Thank God for this place ! I want to say thank you to the owners, Sacramento Parks & Rec that keep this place beautifully clean, the park rangers for the compassion, and genuine concern, for the safety, and well being of everyone utilizing this peaceful space; particularly Ranger Dobbs, who without my having to ask, notified his those patrolling this area , that he had already made contact with me, ran my info so leave her me be...that i was o.k. ... his actions released my spirit of so much hopelessness, anxiety, and fear, I would certainly have physically , and mentally, collapsed from the weight of , after suddenly becoming homeless . Thank you so much for allowing me to rest, order my disheveled thoughts , and contact local resources for assistance, and ultimately come up with a plan on how best to correct my situation. Tomorrow evening ill be moving into a safe, private room and bathroom in a lovely home after a hopefully uneventful 6 hour drive. ..lol for however long I need, to save the monies for an apartment of my own☺ Praises God! I am eternally grateful for your wisdom, compassion, and discretion while interacting with Granites unofficial "residents"...by being trained to see the entire picture without embarrassing often demeaning questions and remarks, knowing that what is happening in our city, is happening all over this country. Thank you for your hearts...the hearts that feel and see...not like other agencies in this nation that decide to penalize citizens without homes contrarily! Bless...
Read moreThere are 3 sides of this park one has a skateboard part connected with a kids area then down a hill there is an area for your dogs it's actually nice with a decent parking lot with trash cans & portable toilets which are disgusting without toilet paper and no seat covers The other two parks are for soccer they have two huge actually three Park areas to play soccer both have parking spaces the one park in the middle has portable toilets that are filthy and disgusting they are tagged all over the place rarely do you see toilet paper and they only get cleaned once a week I advise anybody who has to use the restroom bring your own toilet paper bring your own Clorox wipes and your own hand sanitizer for your hands. The park is always open you have 3 hour parking it's free to park on the other side of the park the last part of it it does have an area you can sit at but there are homeless people who live behind the woods so they come out at night and they are disruptive they already have burnt down the trash can next to the portal potty to many times. Other than that it's decent Park to go during the day to be with your family...
Read moreThere for my first time for a Cub Scout fishing derby grandsons. Only saw the fishing lake, but it was fine for the purpose, level bank all the way around with a concrete rim, thick cattails along part of the shoreline, good for catching off-target casts. Lots of birds in the reeds. Most of us weren’t catching anything, the more skilled said they were catching some 4 or 5 inch bluegill. There’s a pretty aeration fountain in the middle. Picnic tables at a few spots, plus a few benches, small trees for shade a bit back from the water. Pond weed in some places catching on hooks (the entire bank was full of scouts, so couldn’t be choosy. We parked in a solar-panel-shaded lot very close to the lake. Not sure if there’s a charge for parking at other times, but we were told it was free for the event. Only limitation was no close restrooms, we were directed to some port-a-potties at the soccer fields across the street, bit of a hike from the other side...
