Just when I was about to give up on the human race, John and Carmen Luna appeared! Let me back up a little. It all started a few months ago when I noticed that my upstairs AC unit was not blowing cold air. I have American home shield. I’ve been with them for over 20 years. I called and scheduled an appointment. A technician from South Placer Heating and Air INC came to my house. He collected the $100 fee and within minutes told me the reason my ac unit wasn’t cooling was because it was empty of Freon and needed $700 worth. American home shield only covers I believe $150 of that and the rest I needed to pay. I asked the technician where had the Freon that was supposed to be in the AC gone; perhaps there was a leak. He said he would put $700 worth of Freon in there and then if my ac stopped blowing cold air again I should call American home shield again. I was shocked with that answer. I asked him if he could first check to see if there was a leak before he put $700 worth of Freon in the AC. He said, and I quote, “it doesn’t work like that!” I asked him if there was a leak and I lost all of that Freon would I have to pay again the $100 copay for American home shield and then another $550 for more Freon? He said yes! I told the guy no. I asked around and I was given another name outside the American home shield. That technician came and it took him all by 5 minutes to tell me I needed a whole new system and he could do it for me for $8,500! I told that guy that I needed some time to think about it. I was really desperate. These so called technicians seemed like they had no clue what they were saying, or did they?! I think they did. They were both scammers. How I know they were scammers? Here comes our heroes John and Carmen Luna! The moment I spoke with Carmen over the phone I knew I was in the right place. She told me exactly what John would do and how he would handle things. John came in. What a pleasant guy! He spent time actually diagnosing the problem. He took pictures of everything. He did a thorough examination of the ac unit. Then he went over the pictures with me and showed me exactly what was wrong. He showed me my Freon level was full and the system did not need Freon. John fixed my ac for a few hundred dollars! Can you believe it! I can’t thank John and Carmen Luna enough. It’s because of these two beautiful people that my hope for humanity is recharged. I gave John’s phone number to my brother and my neighbors right away. He’s going to get so much business from me, my family and my neighbors. Luna's Air recently installed a new efficient HVAC system in our home and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Not only were they prompt and courteous but we could tell right away that they are true professionals who take pride in their work. After inspecting the HVAC system it was determined that the compressor was bad. They took time to explain in detail the problem(s) and alternate solutions and recommendations. We decided to replace our existing HVAC system. They quoted us prices on different HVAC units and explained the pros and cons of each. We decided on a Concord 3.5 Ton Gas Split system and agreed to commence work the following day. In the meantime, they were able to band aid the issue so that we would have some relief from the excruciating heat. They returned promptly as promised the next day right on time and began to cover stairs, flooring and other areas near where they would be working.You could tell they care about the customer and their reputation. They had all parts, tools, cleaning materials and etc. to complete the job thoroughly. Upon completion, they took time to explain and show us everything they did. They even took before and after pictures of the internal components. They also assisted us in setting up the Smart Thermostat iPhone app and showed us how to work it. In addition to replacing the heating and air units they also installed a new return system in one of our hottest rooms, fixed and redirected some defective air ducts and tested adequate air flow to each room and areas of the home. Our entire home is efficiently cooler. We are very impressed with the pleasant, respectful and professional attributes of this team. I called John on a Wednesday that my AC has a leak and he was able to fit me in his schedule later in the evening. My husband was home and he explained some options, provided quotes, and informed my husband we needed a permit because we were planning to purchase and upgrade the AC/furnace size (he was the only AC Company that informed us of this). When I got home, John explained the same stuff to me. I had a few questions for John and he answered thoroughly. He was professional and very HONEST, so we decided to hire John. The early next morning, his lead tech Jason arrived with a portable AC because John was very concerned that I told him my fiddle tree leaves were falling off and Jason knew what to do. The trick worked and my plant is alive again. John arrived to do a walk through and we were scheduled for Saturday for the installation. Later on that day, John called to see if it was ok to prep on Friday and install on Saturday, which was fine. They arrived on Friday to prep the work and John somehow was able to manage to get the delivery on Friday so they installed the ac and furnace the same day. When they were finished, John explained that he looked at the ducting to all the rooms and fixed/changed them out. He upgraded the vent and thermostat! He explained about the diagnostic testing and the permit again. My AC unit is so quiet I can’t even tell it’s on, and we are enjoying the cold air.
