So, initially, I was looking for karaoke systems to go with my current home theater system, which I just upgraded (and it's high-end, over $6k). I wasn't looking for a whole kit or additional speakers or anything really other than the mixer and/or the karaoke system itself.
When I arrived, the store had an "Open" sign... but the door was locked. I peaked in, and no one was in there. Fortunately, there were a few phone numbers on the store window. I called and was able to get Kate on the phone (I think that was her name). She told me her son had to step out quickly and will be back in 30mins or so. I told her I couldn't wait.
Unfortunately, there was only 2 karaoke places in town, and I was about 40mins away. I didn't want to wait so I left to the other karaoke place. When we got to the other place, I told them exactly what I was looking for, what I needed, and what mattered to me.
After 30ish mins, we went back in circle and the guy just didn't really listen to what I needed and said I don't know how karaoke systems worked. Dude, I have a professional recording studio, and I may not have told you, but you shouldn't assume your customer's knowledge. I walked out buying nothing.
I went back to this place since Kate said she was back at the store. Figured I give it one more shot since I was desperate and wanted to see the systems instead of buying off Amazon or online.
Kate apologized for everything and was very sincere. She asked me what I have currently, and what I was looking for. She actually listened? What? People can listen? Anyway, she did. I told her a few of the systems I saw and instantly liked. She gave me the pros and cons of it, and gave me a different recommendation that has what I was looking for. 30mins later, after testing the system out and meeting every criteria that I "needed" and having some "want to have" features, I settled for a system here contented, knowing Kate would take care of my purchase. She was absolutely nice, tentative, and a very good listener. I don't know why the other karaoke place had a higher review, but my experience today led me to believe that this place absolutely, 100% had way better customer satisfaction, and I've been in customer service for over 15yrs. Yes, they should've been at the store, and I've should've knocked a star off that, and yes, they should had put a sign out "be back in X mins" but I get it, sometimes stuff just happens and you can't do it.
With that, they came back with over the top service that couldn't be matched. I am writing this review now, even though I'm still just getting home to set up my system, but I have no doubt that my system will work and if it doesn't, that they will take care of me no matter what.
