This location is a clown show. We stopped in, and there was a line of about 10 people. We counted over 15 people working, and it took them 25 minutes to get to us. We placed our order and then waited about 10 plus minutes for our food.
The chicken strips were almost cold and incredibly undersized. The chicken was okay but flavorless. I got the spicy chicken and it just tasted like spicy not like flavor at all. And it was maybe a step up above Wendy's spicy, I barely even registered the heat. I paid extra for the adobo rice, and the texture was terrible and it tasted like pretty much nothing. The fries were better than the rice.
On top of this the bathrooms are incredibly tiny with only two stalls and with that many people coming to the restaurant the bathrooms are constantly full. The bathrooms were also a disgusting mess. The dining room was full of people who hadn't even placed their orders yet grabbing tables as soon as they came in and there was almost no where to sit. Some of their tables don't have real chairs they're just foot rests that you sit on with no back to the chair.
I have heard so much hype about their food, and it was nowhere near as good as Popeyes is on a bad day. On top of that the food was also a little overpriced compared to alternative options in the area. I love Filipino food, but it's really hard to see the influence of the culture on this fusion restaurant. It seems like yet another thing that is all hype and no substance. I would definitely skip this and eat literally anywhere else.
It was especially baffling just how many people were working and standing around doing nothing. They had one person working in the front counter and three or four people just standing around behind the counter doing nothing. There were at least three managers just sitting around talking and laughing with each other and not doing anything. There were also people not in uniform going behind the counter and into the kitchen. There was so much chicken already made in the food warmers, so I can't understand how it took so long to get our food. With how long it took to get our food it should have been incredibly fresh, and it was not.
One last note is that their menu is insanely complicated for how little food they actually offer. They have one screen that cycles through a bunch of advertisements for deals, and that is the screen that has the drinks and the sides on it. So you can only see what sides they offer once a minute for 10 seconds or so. They also ask you at the counter what kind of drink you want and you have to make a decision right there even though they have a fountain out in the dining room. They don't even know what kind of drinks they have the guy working the counter just kind of pointed up at the screen which was not showing the drinks at the time so we had to say I don't know a fountain drink, but he wanted to know which specific drink we wanted. This place is so baffling.
If my partner's chicken strips weren't so bad I would have given it 2 stars for the food because the chicken I had had very good texture and was moist, but between the chicken strips being so cold and tough, and my chicken and rice being flavorless. I just can't give them one star. Even the fries were just kind of mid... I don't understand how they screw...
Read moreWe traveled over 120 miles for some good Jollibee. Yes, I wanted comfort food so I drove 120 miles for the experience. Getting there, They had an extremely long drive through line so I called in an order. The wait time for pick up orders, an HOUR! For 10pc chicken & small tray of spaghetti?! Seriously?! We waited anyway because we had shopping to do anyway. They made us pay on the phone & demanded that we could not come before the hour was over. We get there after an hour, still wasn’t ready. Decided to wait in line to get in the building in case it was faster. Finally after another 20 minutes, just to get in. They tell me another 10 minutes. The people at the drive through/waiting in line WITH NO CALL AHEAD got their food faster than I did. What logical sense does that make? The 3 girls at the register/window are too busy gossiping to do their job. Poor girl at the counter getting the food & bagging them was the only front person with a brain making sure people got their CORRECT food. Everyone else (cooks/supervisor) was doing their job well (supervisor was assisting to calm down the agitated people at the door.) Unfortunately, the 3 girls quickly ruined what the manager was helping to fix at the door leaving your customers with bad experiences as a final interaction. You literally can’t help but think, “Oh this is why they are so behind because these girls are literally too distracted.” Its a good thing I looked at the staff as a whole to determine the problem before pointing fingers at the whole restaurant. I will make it known that the Jollibee on Mack in Sacramento CA absolutely needs a better plan on how to service their customers more efficiently & effectively before loosing business. I was definitely not the angriest person there. Worst experience I have EVER had...
Read moreJollibee is the Philippines' McDonald's except it is much more than burgers.
For one, I believe that their Fried Chicken, aptly called, Chickenjoy, is their top menu item and one of the reasons I have made this a destination during my CA trip.
Ordered takeout of Chickenjoy, (combo of Regular and Extra Spicy), Spaghetti, Pancit Palabok, Peach Mango Pie and the Adobo Rice.
A lot for some but considering there is no Jollibee in my neck of the woods, I had to have them.
The branch itself was just as how Jollibee outlets look.
Was there mid-afternoon and the place was not full. Restaurant was clean and service was top-notch! Greeted warmly as soon as we entered. Polite, very friendly service til we left with our "goodies". Might I also add the service was fast!
Now, the food...the chicken was so delicious. Crunchy, juicy BUT did not have any of the red/blood traces that one sometimes encounter in the other 2 fried chicken fast food outlets common here. Regular or Extra Spicy? I cannot choose one over the other as both were equally great.
The Adobo Rice was a new item and although, I was hesitant to get it, I was glad I did.
The Spaghetti was sweet but somehow melded the flavors well with the hotdogs and meat.
The (local Phil.) noodle dish, Pancit Palabok may be visually unappealing with it's cream and mustard-color sauce but, surprise (!!!) , it actually tastes great, specially if you squeeze in the lime added.
The Peach Mango Pie is a dessert that you need 2 at least.
Yes, I do believe I have nothing but just good delicious memories (make that cravings now that I am back in my "neck of the woods")...
