This place smells like mold. Not so bad that you can't sit through a two hour movie, but it's immediately noticeable and unpleasant. The chairs are nice, but overall the place is run down. My biggest issue is that you can't look up their movies online. I normally use the flixter app to find movie theaters. When I first got here and went on the flixter app the two movie theaters that came up were for Morenci and Victory Discount. I had only been in town a few days and Sapphire was the only theater that I had seen so I just drove to it. I was confused when I got to the ticket window and the movies were different so I asked the girl if there were two theaters in town and she didn't know. I then asked if the movie times for this particular movie theater were online and she also didn't know that either. I understand that this town is a little behind the times, but having no online presence for your business is not smart. I now see other reviews have mentioned this and nothing has been done, so I'm assuming the manager of this place has no clue. The discount theater in town knows what's up though, when you google Sapphire Theater and you click on certain results it actually redirects you to their theater. Smart...
Read moreSave yourself the hassle and just go to tucson or phoenix for harkins or amc. This place is a joke. This whole place needs updating. Here were my issues. 1.pricing. 2 small drinks,1 ICEE, 1 nachos and 1 sour punch came out to $56! And the nachos weren't anything special. They were the type that you get at a little league game at the concession stand. The restrooms need and update like yesterday. They look gross and don't even have a urinal for little kids. Like wouldn't you think to have a kid urinal. For all the kid movies you guys put up. The popcorn tray. Like whats up with that big old prison tray they give you. That thing is way to big and weighs more that all your items combined. The seating. If you didn't know this place you would think oh we get to pick our own seating, that must mean these seats retract back and do all the fun stuff. NOPE. Simple basic not updated 90s seats that don't even fit your popcorn prison tray they give you.
So needless to say ,don't go here it's...
Read moreThey need a website. They need a place to update their shows and showtimes. The answering machine with showtimes is hard to hear, and hard to connect to. The line is often busy, or may ring over and over until a fax machine answers. Keep trying, and you will eventually get the movie times, but I'd rather read them, than listen to them. However, it is the only theater in town that isn't in a church. And it beats the 3 hour drive to Phx, and the three hour drive home after the movie, assuming you don't need to visit the city for other reasons. The staff are always friendly. The snacks selection is decent. They'll refill my large sodas after the film. I've little sense of smell, so I don't notice the smells others complain about. I've been in much worse theaters than this one. (The earlier one in the same strip mall was worse.) But there are definitely things that could be improved. They do now have card readers, and can accept payments...
