āāāāā Very disappointing experience (today around 3:50 p.m.) I normally shop at another ALDI where the staff are kind and understanding, especially since I always have my young child in a stroller. My son is immunocompromised, which means I canāt use public things like grocery carts, highchairs, or store seating ā anything thatās frequently touched ā because even a simple cold could land him in the hospital. So I keep him safely in his stroller and place my items underneath until checkout.
At my usual ALDI, the cashier always places my groceries into the cart next to him so I can bag my items after paying and then return the cart back when Iām finished. Itās always quick, smooth, and considerate.
Today, at this location, when I asked if I could use the cart she was loading to bag my groceries (as Iāve always done), the cashier told me, āWell, if you wanted that, you should have gotten your own cart ā just telling you for next time.ā She said I was ācausing a delayā in the line and started putting the next customerās groceries into the same cart that had my items in it. She told me I couldnāt take it because she was already using it for the lady after me ā even though that customer had her own cart, so it made no sense.
I ended up going to get another cart myself just to make things easier, and she still huffed and puffed about it. The whole thing was unnecessary and rude. Every customer behind me already had a cart, so there was no real delay ā just a lack of understanding and empathy.
Iāve always appreciated ALDI for its efficiency and friendly staff, but this experience left a bad impression. A little kindness and flexibility go a long way, especially when someoneās doing their best to safely shop with a medically...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday my cashier was JAKE. He was pleasant to every other person that was white just not me. (Iām black). I come here once a month and this has never been my experience. When it was my turn and the people in front of me were leaving he was nice enough to say thank you and have a good day. He also greeted them before he started. Me on the other hand he did not greet. I said hello and asked him how he was doing. I got a one word response āgoodā. Okay thatās fine I continue to put my things on the belt while also consistently checking the price to make sure I donāt go over my budget. I had things at the bottom that I had not forgotten about but were specifically but there because they were the last of my things. Before I even had all of my items out of the top of the basket he continued to lean back and look under the cart instead of asking me if I was still going to purchase the 4 items at the bottom. I felt rushed and uncomfortable. When I was okay with my total I put the remaining 4 items at the top. I pay and get my receipt and he is silent. As I am bagging my items up a few feet away he is polite and greeting everyone else? When will this ever stop? I paid and was polite like everyone else but still was treated as though I shouldnāt have even been in that store. This is sick and I do not wish this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne of the best small grocery chains around. The lines do not bother me, they are no longer than what you wait at Walmart for. There is not one item there that I have not found to complain about, what is really impressive is that their gluten free items have not been marked up outrageous like at Walmart or other places. We bought our Christmas ham there was tagged at 21.99 but when we got to the check out there was an in store coupon for 5 off. Nice surprise and wow the ham had great flavor. I am very happy to see that they allow their cashiers to have the option to sit if they want. Yes you put a quarter in a slot to get a basket, but when you put the basket back and slide the chain in, your quarter pops back out. Also little know fact, their brands have veggies that are raised chemical free. I hope Aldi's stays around, their half&half taste just as good as bordens. The meat section is just right, I am not a fan of pre packaged junk dinners and I am happy to see that it only is a small section, so other wholesome food can...
