I won’t be going back. They are in the soft opening stage and still working out the kinks so some of the problems I won’t go to far in on but my biggest one I will.
The overwhelming worst problem is at the menus core which can be changed but they likely won’t. The sauce is oil based and whatever recipe they are using is way too oily. You end up with a bowl with a quarter inch of flavorless oil at the bottom. Not to mention the stuff on the bottom is sitting in it the entire meal so there’s a point were I just had to stop for fear of going into cardiac arrest and foreseeing stomach problems. Clearly an unbalanced sauce . The reality is if they hadn’t changed it already they don’t believe it’s a problem. There’s a right way and a wrong way to do this and you’re doing it wrong. Flavor is decent but way too much oil.
Crab Pack on Beach is an example of a restaurant doing the sauce correctly. I challenge the owner to visit and compare. It’s an opportunity to improve upon something before it becomes a major issue for your restaurant. .
Don’t won’t to linger on the rest because I know they are figuring it out so I will keep the rest sort
Service was awful, worst I’ve had in some time. There’s a general feeling of confusion among the staff as they struggle to put food on the correct tables. Not exaggerating 5 times someone else’s food was brought to my table. On multiple occasions you could see this also happening to others. Clearly there is a problem.
Robots cute but they also failed to deliver food correctly. Just get rid of them the servers were having to deliver the food anyway
In general there’s an over doing on menu items. Example garlic fries. Taste good but too much minced garlic used. Spicy Korean wings idk what it was exactly but something was way too heavy on and ended up sending them back. There was a beef salad not sure what it was called that the table next to use order and while it looked amazing they complained about something being to heavy on it.
There’s a lot of opportunity here but unfortunately odds are they might address service issues but are unlikely to address the menu ones so it’s doubtful I will return. Understand your going to benefit temporarily from the new car smell as Saginaw is horrible for diversity of options but when you are not the new kid on the block anymore your going to see a huge decline if you don’t...
Read moreThe manager discriminates against Black people. He is rude and Racist. My husband and I went there on our anniversary to celebrate after work sometime in May. We called at 8:30 pm and asked what time they are closing the restaurant. They told us that they close at 10:00 pm, but as long as we get there at 9:30 pm we will be ok. We got there at 9:15 pm and we were served by 9:30 pm. 10 minutes after we start eating at 9:40 pm, the manager came to our table stated nastily « y’all need to pay and leave, we are closing » We told him that we just started to eat and they told us over the phone that the restaurant closes at 10:00 pm but it was only 9:40 pm. He responded by saying again y’all need to leave now or I call the police on you. We ask why? We told him that was not fair, that he didn’t have the right to kick us out while we still eating our food and the restaurant wouldn’t close for about 20 minutes. This manager continued to stand by our table and ordering us to get up and leave now and threatened to call the police on us. He state we are banned from going there since we didn’t want to leave. This was 15 minutes prior to closing. We were very angry, decided to leave. Now 2 months later my daughter wanted seafood and we decided to go there. When we walk in, that manager for some reason recognized us and told us that we should leave that we were banned from here. We ask what did we do? He stated y’all refused to leave last time. This is not how you treat your customers no matter they race, accent or disability. This manager deserves to be fired. I will never come to this place again.I need to call...
Read moreVisiting family and we decided to try the new place in town. The atmosphere is ok and simple. I did like the steam they used to make it look like fire. The actual servers are friendly and helpful. But it was weird to see them following a robot that was bringing the food to the table. If you have servers, might as well utilize them as servers.
Another weird thing is they use plastic ware instead of silverware. You'd rather create more waste then wash some dishes? I'm kind of surprised that a Cajun company from California isn't more environmentally friendly. I'm not an environmental freak or anything, but was surprised by that part.
The food was alright. I had the fried shrimp basket with fries. They were bettered really well to the point that the batter didn't even fall off. But the shrimp was a bit over cooked and rubbery. Could tell it was frozen shrimp. Fries were crispy and came out hot. Family had some crawfish and also a #2 combo. Cousin said you could tell the crawfish were frozen and were rubbery as well. But it did have good flavor. The #2 came with crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage. The shrimp in the bag was better than the fried. Better flavor and wasn't overcooked. Crab was done very well and tasted good.
Overall, I most likely would not go back to this restaurant. If I want Cajun food I want the right atmosphere and a cook that knows how to cook seafood properly. Plus those damn robots are WAY too loud! Might be a good idea to turn them down or maybe play the same music that's on the main radio speakers. Trying to talk over them when they're moving...
