The only good thing about this place is the relatively cheap price ($11.27), but you get what you pay for. Everything else was a massive disappointment. The manager was very rude and had a bad attitude.
I went on a Monday night with a bunch of my friends. One of the people in our group had a shoulder injury that prevented her from using the regular bowling balls, so she asked the manager if she could use one of the smaller bowling balls typically provided for children. The manager running the shoe/checkout counter refused to accommodate her condition, so as a result she was unable to bowl with the rest of us and had to sit out.
The bathrooms were very dirty and unsanitary. At the main sink, they had no roll-towel dispensers for drying hands, only a hot-air blaster. A very dirty pull-open-lid garbage bin sat in the corner of the bathroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in twenty years. The floors were sticky and the corner of the bathroom adjacent to the stalls was lined with random bed sheets (not towels - bed sheets) for some reason.
As other reviewers have noted, the bowling balls provided at this alley are in dismal condition. Most were way too large, with few midrange-weighted balls. Most had their markings for weight scoured off so one could only tell how heavy they were through trial-and-error. Many were cracked throughout and heavily damaged, with some even having the fingerholes lined with sharp chips of ceramic that could potentially cut someone if they stuck their hand in there. I tried over fifty bowling balls and could only find one that even remotely worked for me, and it was still too heavy.
Two-thirds of the way through our bowling game for the night, when we were the only ones left in the alley, our lane malfunctioned and stopped returning bowling balls to us, nor would it pick up the fallen pins. The guard-bar that comes down in front of the pins during pin reset froze in the extended position, and never went back up. We requested help from the manager, but she took a very long time to do anything about it. After we sat for 10 minutes waiting for her to fix the issue, she finally simply switched us to another lane, but by that point we had waited so long and had already had such a disappointing night at the alley that we decided to simply leave.
At the end of the day, the manager's behavior was what personally bothered me the most. She was rude in the manner she spoke to us, had a scowl on her face the entire night, and neither greeted us when we entered nor wished us a good night when we left. She seemed to not care about us as paying customers at all; In which case I and my friends are more than happy to bowl...
Read moreIt's such a shame that such a nice area has SUCH a bad venue running this way. We came in to bowl (the place was more than half empty despite the rain storms) with my two kids who have been in plenty of times before - My son knows how to bowl and knows what size ball is right for him and his weight/size... It's a 7lb. She REFUSED to give us a 7lb bc those are "ONLY FOR 8 and under" and he JUST turned 9. Sizing a ball with ONE SIZE option only for an AGE is ridiculous - kids are ALL different sizes and bowling balls are NOT sized according to AGE, it's weight and hand sizing. It's genuinely disgusting that even after she made my two kids share a ball despite paying for two pairs of shoes, Monica refused to allow my son the correctly sized ball and literally made him cry she was so mean/creepy/rude. She RUDELY told me to "go buy him a ball then" when I told her we know what sizing ball he needs and the one she gave him is too big/heavy. Rather than handing us one that we know is his right sizing, EVEN after he tried to use the heavier one which was WAY not the right size for him. We did our best to try the wrong size for him, but she stood there creeping my kids out SCOWLING AND STARING AT US the ENTIRE time we were trying to ignore her, and it just was awful. Monica was horrendously rude to the folks before and after us, to the point where the other two parents in there also commented to me how bad she always is when she's in there and were mouthing WTF is going on back and forth to each other... The manager is out of state so there's nothing to be done. I THINK?! I got my money back (we'll see on the bank statement) and when my husband called to ask what the policy is exactly bc my kids were so confused and upset about the scenario, she told him "your wife was being unreasonable asking for a different ball" LOL!? LADY! You work at a bowling alley?! you HAVE to realize that there are different sized balls BECAUSE you are supposed to find the one that is right for you? My kids are super calm and well behaved children and this was such a gross experience, she should NOT be working in there during the day when kids...
Read moreIt was so dirty! Everything was broken, the fridge in the snack bar was moldy, the entrance looked like it hadn't been vacumm ed in weeks, and managment was rude.I went with my family and bought 2 games and shoes which ended up being roughly about 42.00. The cashier assigned us to lane 4 and we asked if we could go to a lane away from the other people noticing that there was other open lanes. The cashier very rudely said no. Nothing more just no. We shrugged it off and assumed they were reserved or something and began playing. Two rounds in the computer started glitching and reseting the balls every single time. I waited at the counter 15 minutes for her to come back and she said she would restart the game. So I went back and tried to keep playing and it never reset. I came back up and tried to explain that there was a full set of pins on the ground and our computer screen showed 3. She stated that it wasn't important what the screen showed to just bowl and set would try to reset it again. So, reluctantly, I went back and waited for it to resart. Ibeven sent my kid to get a slushy while we waited. He came back and it still wasn't working. Then my son bowled a strike and the computer didn't record it. So, he starts crying and my 1 year old follows suit. I finally just go to the counter and politely request a refund. She offered to move me to a different lane and I declined and said fine I have to get my manager. She walks to the snack counter and then walks back and tells me I have to go meet her manager at the snack counter. Are you kidding me? So, I walk over there and she offers to move me. I decline and explain my frustration and then she says "Sorry, no refunds." I told her I spent 40 dollars and didn't even get 2 rounds. She said sorry we don't give refunds. I asked to speak a higher up and she said very snobbishly that she was the higher up and she was the assistant manager. I asked to speak to the GM and she stated that they were not in and when I asked for her business card or an email she told me no. I am so disappointed in them. It ruined my family trip. I will...
