After all the hype we finally gave Popeyes a chance. The place was devoid of customers at 5:37 pm. Should've been our first red flag. The very first words out of my mouth when I got to the counter was, I've never eaten at a Popeyes before, what do you recommend? What ensued between the two women at the counter completely baffled me. It was some inside joke they shared that felt a bit racist. I stood quietly while they finished their antics and got themselves focused on us, the customers. Because they seemed unable or unwilling to offer a suggestion, I told them what we like. That sent the one woman into some sort of mental break, she finally walked to the back. My wife is diabetic and ordered a diet soda. When she was attempting to fill her medium cup, the diet selection she wanted was out of syrup. When she told the woman at the counter their response was, pick something else. My wife said she didn't want something else. They responded with, it's broken. I said, then refund us the money. The woman told her friend, she refuses to issue refunds for anything because she doesn't want to do that because it's too much trouble. It was then they suddenly discovered the machine was not broken after all. We finished the $35.51 meal and I chose to not say a word to them when we left. But the mental meltdown woman asked our opinion. I said the chicken was bland, and the biscuits were cold, flavorless and dry. She decides to come around that counter towards me. When she saw I could not be intimidated, she took a step back and said in a conspiatorial whisper, I agree. This was their chance to shine. A brand new customer. I will not go back to the Popeyes at 1401 Regency Parkway, Saint Charles again, nor any Popeyes for that matter. That first red flag...should been my hint to go to a great chicken...
Read moreHa! This location is so horrible, they have a message at the drive thru "due to staff shortages, we are a little slower than usual" then they only take my order when the car at the window leaves with their order. Apparently they needed a break from that. And it took more than a few moments to get to me. I ordered the ghost pepper sandwich...just the sandwich. And I said it just like that. The employee paused for a long time and said.."would you like anything else"? I said no thank you and they said hold for your total.. I waited a full minute for them to come back and tell me how much and to pull around if I had exact cash or credit/debit card. What would have happened if I didn't have exact cash? The sandwich did burn my throat...from all the salt. Holy crow! I had to set the sandwich down and get used to the amount of salt in that thing. I even considered taking it back. But I powered through and took another bite. By the time I reached the end, I was able to taste the chicken and ghost pepper sauce. Which made it all ok.. somehow. But I'm not sure if I'll come back to this location. The sad thing is. It's in a Walmart parking lot, up the street from a chick fillet. This location has easier access and more parking than their rival, they should be killing it...but are...
Read moreJust because I'm picking up a delivery order, doesn't mean I'm not also a paying customer, welp not anymore. Last time I accept a GrubHub order for here as well.
App says "pick up order inside", I walk up and dining area is closed. I'm forced to wait in the drive-thru behind a line of cars, okay I'm cool with that. I pull past the speaker so that the person behind me can place their order since I'm only picking up an order that should already be made. Still had two cars in front of me before I got to the window.
Get to the window, "hi, I'm picking up a GrubHub order for name"
Cashier: "Okay you can't just pull up, you have to wait at the speaker. You can't just pull to the window because you're with DoorDash. I'm just letting you know for next time."
First of all, there won't be a next time. Second of all, why does it matter? I'm next in line either way. Third, I clearly said GrubHub, a completely different company. By pulling up I increase efficiency by letting the next person place their order. You don't have to open the window up for me right away. Literally no other place I've been to with a closed circuit drive-thru has had an issue with it if their dining area isn't open. I shouldn't be treated like I'm cutting in front of others in line or...
