I’ve been hesitant to leave this review for months now. I had recently moved back to Michigan and was looking for care for my daughter. I thought I found a great daycare for my daughter when I enrolled her at Joyful Jungle. I soon realized it wasn’t what it seemed. My daughter was never comfortable at drop off which was not usual for her, she would kick and scream.
We had several incidents where my daughter came home telling me about a male student hitting her and pushing her. When I inquired the staff told me my daughter was hitting others. I had told my daughter we don’t hit but she was persistent she didn’t hit the other student.
The final straw was when I picked up my daughter and she had scratches all over her face and hands but NO ONE CALLED ME. The incident report only noted small scratches which clearly wasn’t true.
After a few days of investigation and Rachel allowing us to see the video footage it had been seen that the same male student had attacked my daughter several times, pushed her down, and the staff had been cleaning up because it was clean up time despite my daughter clearly crying in the video. Rachel had no real plan of action on how they would improve all she talked about was they hired a lot of staff and haven’t had training yet.
The reason I waited so long to write this review is because even though this happened months ago my daughter still tells me about how she remembers the male student (who she calls by name) attacking her face and how it wasn’t nice and it hurt.
The lack of safety awareness for my daughter was extremely disheartening as well as the lack of action. I removed my daughter and put her into a daycare that not only was cheaper but actually cares about the students and makes sure they are safe.
I would never recommend anyone to put their child at...
Read moreI recently toured The Joyful Jungle in hopes that it would be a good fit for our family. My review is just from the recent tour. The facility was clean and secure. Brittany the admin was super nice, provided great support to any questions I asked and was happy to show me the facility. I was told the child learn stories from the Bible, pray over their meals and complete fun Bible based activities. The teacher to student ratio in the two's class is 1 teacher to every 4 children. Preschool was around 12 student to every 1 teacher and a child (depending on their development) could go into the preschool class at 2.5 years old.
With all the positive listed, we did not choose to join the Joyful Jungle family and here are some of the reason why. The facility does not provide private secure live streaming video of the classrooms for parents, each classroom seems very closed off with no exterior windows for natural lighting, there is no additional indoor play area for snowy or rainy days and the outside playground is EXTREMELY lacking. The outdoor playground has VERY little toys or privacy. It is surround by condos/apartments which all over look the children's playground area.
Now to Covid response. Again the facility was super clean with multiple hand washing and hand sanitizer stations around. All adults must wear masks. Children are not required to wear mask. Parents are not allowed in the classrooms. I asked Brittany how many times has the school shut down for Covid and she...
Read moreWe joined joyful jungle in early 2023 after a terrible experience with our prior care center. JJ was very responsive , we booked a tour , they had answers to every question we had . checked all the boxes for us . We now have two children that attend , and we have had no issues . They are always so kind , they are very on top of organization and sanitizing areas . Every day at pick up I see staff cleaning and preparing for the next day . We have come a long way with the center , watching as they built the playground and all the "improvements" for the kids . From Brittany, Caelan and SArai the directors are phenomenal . Very prompt and upfront .
the Staff is nothing less of kind and compassionate. brennan is the sweetest and is always so kind to everyone
Ashley and taylor are also so sweet to the kids and they genuinely care for the littles
My children love their teachers and most of the time its hard to get them to want to go home . The staff does SO much with the kids activity wise ,and have been a crucial part of my kids development . they have amazing opportunities that most centers dont provide , keeping all locations in connection with another, it truly gives the family feel. We will be sad to go...
