St. John Crossings — Local services in Saint John

I always use their gas station because they used to be 10c cheaper than everywhere else, but lately they have been keeping up with everyone else's prices! Their cigarettes used to be way cheaper as well and they have recently went up on those. There is a shorter older lady in there with braids to the back and glasses her name is Madeline (normally I would never put a name in a review) but she is absolutely HORRIFIC TO DEAL WITH. She got caught talkin crazy to me one day and neither of us knew one of her managers was standing right behind me. He asked me if I had these problems with her all the time and was I a faithful shopper and I said "yes I come here everyday to get cigarettes and gas and have to deal with her rudness everyday, that if he didn't do something about the customer service I was going to start going somewhere else. The man behind us chimed in and told his story which was worse than mine. I have no idea how this lady kept her job but they let it go like it was nothing. Very very disappointing. If you are that unhappy working a face to face customer service job then you need to go look for a new one that you do not have to deal with customers in person. Flat out. I work very hard for my money and should not be treated that way. NO ONE SHOULD BE TREATED THAT WAY. Maybe this review will actually help the situation a little because here lately I don't have time for her petty attitude, so I have been going elsewhere to get my gas and cigarettes. Now the actual store I have had absolutely no problem with. They are great, but until the problem is solved with Madeline I will not be returning, and I hate that because I always loved that lil gas station. As far as other businesses in that shopping center, I can't say anything bad or good. I've never been in them. Help this review actually helps this problem and sorry so long. I've been wanting to vent about that one...

The new Schnucks is great, the produce section is beautiful and looks like a very well-maintained farmer's market. Staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a huge improvement over the Shop & Save that was here previously. Many of the same staff are still here, but they seem friendlier and happier to be here now. One word of caution: the high school across the street ends its school day at 2:50 pm; the street between the school and Schnucks is absolute chaos around this time. Kids stream across the street, parents park on the Schnucks backlot blocking customers from getting in or out. Some students head straight to the store for a snack and, while most of them are well behaved, some of them are extremely loud, obnoxious and ill-mannered. The last time I made the mistake of shopping after school let out, I saw a young lady grab a wing from the hot food bar and walk through the store eating it and screaming with her friends. I spoke with the manager and he said that there is nothing that can be done, so I just avoid the store between about 2:30 and 4pm. Do that and you will have a pleasant...

They have an Applebees there and I love their Oriental fried chicken salad. It is so delicious. They have almonds and those crispy noodles and this dressing that you will start craving and I ask for additional toppings on the side and they are so good it's like a two meals for me. I can eat half tonight and the other half tomorrow for lunch. That's the best salad ever. Also service is great, the bartenders don't skimp on the liquor but they poor what they're supposed to pour. I like there Jack and cokes and a small glass and their Long Island Iced Teas. you have a couple of those bartenders that are so good that you can't even taste the liquor but you'll be feeling it as soon as you stand up. Also, their ribs are really good and their burgers or divine. I always ask my family to give me gift cards to Applebees. I was so excited when I found out St Johns Crossing was getting an Applebee's!
