You know how so many negative reviews about a business often say, "I wish I could give them 0 stars instead of 1?" Well, I wish I could give Elk County Ammo & Arms 6 stars instead of 5. Here's why:
During these crazy times of unprecedented buying frenzies and inventory shortages on guns and ammo, I scoured the internet and made phone calls for days trying to find a gun store somewhere in the U.S. that had in stock the exact model of S&W .500 Magnum I was looking for. Finally I found these guys, and they had it. Plus, whereas so many other stores don't even have time to answer their phones anymore, when I called Elk County Ammo & Arms to confirm availability (because so many gun shops don't update their inventory availability online), I immediately got a live person on the phone who answered all my questions.
Not only did they have the gun I was after at a time when it's extremely hard to come by, but pricing was very reasonable just the same. Shipping and handling charges likewise -- no price gouging going on at all.
And here's the best part. I ordered my gun from them online and pressed submit order at 1:15 pm PDT from where I live in Oregon (so 4:15 pm their time in PA). When so many other gun shops and online ammo stores are weeks behind on their shipping due to COVID-related logistical problems, these guys emailed me a tracking number overnight in less than 12 hours, and my gun was on the road and moving in less than 24 hours. It showed up at my local FFL on Friday morning, three days after I ordered it. My local FFL called, I went down and ran my background check, and walked out with my beautiful new S&W in hand at 1:15 pm PDT on Friday... exactly 72 hours after I pressed send and submitted my online order. Outstanding. I'm not even sure how they pulled that off with standard USPS shipping. I do know they'll be near the very top of my call list for all things guns and ammo...
Read moreI recently initiated the process for purchasing a suppressor from ECAA. During the wait for my tax stamp, I purchased an AR15 pistol chambered in 300 Blackout. Before I arrived to purchase the firearm, I checked with an employee about pricing on ammo. I was told they would price match ammo of the same product number from a locally owned business, but not an online retailer. I understood and accepted that explanation. I sourced ammo from a locally owned gun shop approx. 1 hour from ECAA. I documented the price and informed the employee who completed the sale, about what shop I found a particular ammo and the price. Turns out they would not price match the ammo I had located as they promised me they would. Additionally, there was a large error made during the purchasing process of my suppressor. It was an issue with paperwork and ECAA not being completely certain what documentation needed to be completed for the suppressor. It was actually paperwork that I initially submitted but was told by ECAA that I did not have to submit to the ATF. It turns out ECAA was wrong and I did need the paperwork that I no longer was in possession of. However, an employee named Aaron contacted me quickly to advise me of the issue and did everything he could do and everything I requested to make it right by me. So although I did experience two issues during my initial introduction to this shop, they did everything they could to make it right by me. Therefore, I intend to purchase additional firearms and suppressors from the in the future. My suggestion is to order your...
Read moreI ordered a brand new Benelli Performance Shop SuperSport from these guys on gunbroker. I came to get the transfer today at which time the box was opened in front of me. We took it out and the Choke tool (for all those extra expensive chokes I paid for) is missing. Instead I have the wrong one. Elk County Ammo And Arms’ first response was to blame the transfer shop, but I’ve been doing business with these guys a long time and I watched them open the box. Then they said welp you’re SOL call the manufacturer. You would think after I spent upwards of $2500 with them they would want to make this right. I was planning to order another $1000 pistol from them tomorrow, but now that I know how terrible their service is they won’t get my business again. Stay far far away.
They replied to my review elsewhere, so I’ll add here that Benelli took care of the issue for me right away and sent me the correct one. They told me that they called Benelli who told them it was correct. Lies all around from these people. I wish it would let me post photos here to show you, but if you look for my review on their Facebook page you will see them. I was going to leave it alone, but they insinuated I was rude and lying and these they offered to help, but that I ended the conversation too quickly. My exact words were “So there’s nothing you can do?” Their response was “nope, we don’t stock those” so I said, “ I guess I have no other recourse, but to leave you a review...
