I suppose the saying is true, "You get what you pay for". At least in the case of the Aldis on University avenue. You can save a few bucks on groceries, however , you have to deal with some of rudest, most ignorant staff ever. More than half the time, the cashiers won't even greet you. Most of the time they are too busy yelling back and forth to each other to even pay any attention to what is going on. My most recent trip, I had the misfortune of having a "lady" by the name of Shauntana working at the line I checked out at. When it was my turn, I got some sort of a grunting noise, which I thing meant "Hello" , but Then again, who knows. Then she started yelling to the cashier in the next line and they went back and forth complaint about their "babies daddies". Then Shauntana had an attitude because I guess I wasn't bagging my groceries fast enough for her, since I had only purchased a few things and didn't get a cart. Then God forbid you ask one of them a question, they look at you like are really putting putting a burden them. I get it, you are all miserable. You probably didnt even graduate from high school. You have between 3-10 kids by multiple guys, none of which take care of their kids. The county probably took away your welfare which forced you to get a job you absolutely hate, or it's just the idea of having to work for a living to support you and your multiple kids that you abhor. You feel life has dealt you a bum hand, Well, suck it up butter cup! No one owes you anything Then the morbidly obese "security guard" is another story. She always has an attitude. The only, and I mean THE ONLY, Individual who actually acts in a professional and courteous manner is a gentleman named Joe. I actually had to tell him once how much I appreciate his positive attitude. The rest of them that work there however, aren't...
Read morei work close to this Aldi, so the other day i stop by to get few grocies, but i was disgusted by one of the stuff members attitude,. i went there because it was the nearest grocey store and the cheapest but i rather shop now @ Wal-mart and Target after experiencing horrible services when it comes to customer service, to certain Minority groups,. if they see you have hijab on they will discriminate you and treat you badly becuase of your religion and faith background and thats just wrong and un-american. i would suggest anybody who are Somali or muslim to not shop there. because its not your type of store they do racial profiling to those who are immigrants and Mulisms, Somalis, Ethipian, Eretrean. especially if you're muslim women the level of disrepect towards them are unacceptbal, the stuff behavior is rude and racist. please don't go to shop at this aldi location, go to the other Aldi store. its only this location, we noticed this issues is keep happening over and over again and we trying to make our community to aware of this...
Read moreIt's Aldi, just as you expect. More so, it's Aldi, as it was several years ago. Yeah, you get Aldi prices and Aldi brands. You also get the store layout that they used 5-10 years ago. Remember how Aldi stores used to force every customer to go all the way down Aisle 1 before being able to go to any other aisle? This store still does exactly that. If you're agile you might be able to get past the people in that aisle to get to what you want, otherwise it can be a slow walk until you have elbow room.
To their credit though the parking lot - for as small as it is - is actually pretty efficient. Customers going in and out at a pretty quick clip leads to quick space turnover (even on a weekend) so it works...
