NL Oriental Food & Deli — Local services in Saint Paul

Went here once before on a random occasion to see what’s inside, came across the deli, ended up ordering one chicken wing to try. It was pretty good, came with a small container of hot pepper sauce. I was satisfied with the chicken wing, it was only $1.50. I’ve been looking to return to eat some more of the chicken for a while now but just hadn’t made it back, finally today I returned ready to get some chicken again but I am sick with a cold and don’t have a large appetite. Therefore, I only wanted one chicken wing once again. I ask the lady working the deli, “can I order one chicken wing please?” And the lady simply says “no more chicken wing.” Mind you, it’s 1pm on a Wednesday and also mind you, if you look at the menu (picture posted), half of the menu are chicken items so how could you not have chicken? Frankly I believe she just didn’t want to serve me one wing. Sad to say but I won’t be patronizing this...

Clean place...their papaya is really good, but their service is VERY POOR! New Years Eve, I waited in line for 30 minutes only to get my order messed up twice! I told the older lady in glasses that I wanted large special, she just looked at me and walked away. The lady who does the papaya asked me what I wanted so I told her large special, medium spicy in Lao style. After waiting a while they bring me a regular box of papaya. I told them mine was special. They recently changed owners and no longer accept EBT. They have a great selection of oriental snacks and ingredients for amazing meals. They also have a great selection of cooked meals. The family that owns it (new and old) are really nice and helpful. Always looking to make everyone feel welcomed and like family. This is on my walking route, it's a great place to stop for a quick drink or dinner when I'm running late. My kids love the selection this little store has.
