Wonderful facility and So many levels. They get things a little better attention to some cleanliness details. Drinking phones often enough black goo in the drains makes it really hard to want to drink. I don't know about the men's locker in the women's locker Room there's no signs telling you to take a shower before you go in the steam or the sauna. So hillbilly women OFTEN walk in fully clothed from the out and straight from the gym all sweaty and stink the place out. Even worse, wearing outdoor Sneakers that may look brand new on top but arefull of dirt on yhe soles, these inconsiderate women then sit on the top row and put their feet on the bottom row and have ground dirt into Cedar boards. Gross. The communal whirlpool often had black streaky foam from people who also refuse to wash before using. The teenage staff does nothing. Worse, when adults do get asked to modify bad behaviorsuch as bringing back paxks into the sauna!!! They ignore the teens who walk away to avoid a fight. Where is the adult supervision? It's a combination of low class and poor management. Go early, Before the hillbillies come, and bring a towel to sit on. I've asked repeatedly that something be done to correct the situation - I've been ignored for months. Still, for all this , most people are respectul and congenial whivh makes us go back. The city offers a great service to the community with the Recplex but sure wish the attention to hygiene details was...
Read moreThey have open swim during swim classes for kids and let the general public use the lanes that they are teaching the classes in. Yeah, between about 4 and 5 pm there are swim teams practicing and there isn't but a lane or two for the 3 or 4 swim classes. The swim classes have to share lanes with each other AND the general public. The kids have to swim around these people like they are obstacles. No offense to the public, these times are advertised; but I've seen a lot of swim lessons in my time, but never scheduled with the general public interfering. After having this experience, I have looked more closely at the "Y" as another commenter suggested. I can see that the program looks more comprehensive at the "Y" as the sidestroke is not shown to be taught at the RecPlex. I can also see that the "Y" claims to focus more on individual attention. Your child will just be failed at the RecPlex if they don't grasp a concept, no individual help there (unless you pay hefty fees for private instruction). My feelings are "if the students don't learn, the teacher hasn't taught". It would be interesting to know the "failure" rate for swimming at the RecPlex. Talking to the parents of students in the class, it seems to...
Read moreWe have LOVED our RecPlex membership this past year (just renewed!) and have encountered so many absolute superstars during our time there so far!
Christia Jones - I've been going to Christia's circuits class on Monday and Wednesday since April 2024 and Christia is incredible! She has been so very patient with me as I've learned the ropes, and the community she has created with our group goes above and beyond what I expected from a workout class. Christia has a gift for motivating and teaching. I am so glad to have started training with her!
Mandy Whitacre - our kiddos did Skate Academy classes in the winter and spring of 2024. Mandy was SO helpful in guiding us to the best classes for each child. She kept things running so smoothly, and always with a smile! She is awesome!
The Tot Drop staff make our kids' time at the RecPlex (when we're not doing public skate, playing in the pool, etc. - also awesome!) so much fun! I didn't expect my kids to like the childcare, but they don't just like it - they LOVE it, thanks to the people in the Tot Drop. The women are so warm and welcoming, even when things in there get hectic!
I just wanted to shout out how much we love...
