One of my favorite restaurants in St. Peters. Don’t let the cinco de mayo reviews fool you. It’s one of the busiest days for all Mexican restaurants in the country. This is a non-chain, family owned and staffed operated restaurant. The service yesterday was slower than usual but that’s to be expected when you have a line of people waiting for the most popular day for Mexican cuisine of the year. For other people claiming false advertising, the restaurant clearly stated days ahead what would be on the menu for cinco de Mayo….it was definitely stated that the flights and La margaritas would not be available. There are multiple type of birria items ion the menu so be aware of what you’re ordering because mainstream social media has people fooled and thinks birria is just a taco when it’s actually a type of meat served in multiple dishes. For the reviews stating that the birria was falsely advertised…..they were unfamiliar with the menu. I always order the birria Quasadilla that comes with the broth but decided to try something different. The street tacos were great and drinks are always on point, especially the pineapple margaritas! I love coming to this restaurant and am a frequent visitor! I will continue to support my...
Read moreThere are a TON of very mediocre Mexican eateries in St Charles County and most taste exactly the same. Let me start by saying this is NOT that style of cuisine. While the decor might appear to be typical for a casual Mexican spot the food is absolutely amazing. It's clear they are using higher quality, and fresher, ingredients that you'd typically find in a much higher end establishment. I had the chicken soup and it was a HUGE bowl of freshly pulled chicken, neatly sliced avocado in a tasty broth with a nice spice oil on top. Accompanied by a few FRESH MADE tortillas. Awesome! On to the tacos which were a nice value and smartly assembled with a variety of options. We had a carne asada, pollo and carnitas. All were 5*. Service was a bit slow but I'll absolutely give them a pass as they appeared to be assembling a ton of takeout orders while also trying to get the dining room back up to speed given this was their first week back after the C19 madness. I will absolutely return to this establishment and not hesitate to give it a glowing...
Read morePhenomenal drinks and food! They advertised on Facebook that there were certain drinks they would not be able to keep up with making on Cinco De Mayo. Due to seeing this we came the day before. They were extremely busy, so we decided to sit at the bar. Generally speaking you usually get great service when sitting at the bar because you’re right in front of the bartenders. We got great service. Everyone was running around working hard. When the server came over to take our order (who I think is also the manager) he immediately explained to us that some drinks would take longer because they’re waiting on the frozen machine to keep up. We appreciated knowing that upfront and ordered the frozen drinks and waited patiently. The salsa was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was slightly spicy and had so much flavor, the chips were great too. Our food came out and everything was delicious! We will definitely be back. I can’t wait to try the...
