This review may sound over the top, but it is 100% deserved! My wife and I have been coming to St. John in the US Virgin Islands for 9 years. It is our happy place. BUT, after hurricanes the reefs were severely damaged. The fish and corals and turtles and sharks were fewer to be seen. While I love snorkeling, the last two years I was here I barely snorkeled at all because there was so little to see I felt. Today one of the most important reasons we travel here and love this place was on full display thanks to charter captain Nathaniel. I felt like I was back in the slice of heaven we found years ago! Captain Nathaniel asked what we wanted to see and if there were any specific places or experiences we wanted. And then he built and modified the itinerary through the full day on Bama Breeze VI! (Virgin Islands, not six!) It was exquisite. The best snorkeling we have ever had.

The corals we saw were recovering and growing, lots of new growth, lots of established corals. It was the first time I saw so many purple fans, blue and mustard color brain corals, and elk horn corals thriving! There were many, many more I don’t know well. We saw blue tangs, sergeant majors, a variety of parrot fish, triggerfish, ballyhoo in the dozens, cowfish, needlefish, so many varieties of wrasse, butterfly fish, nurse sharks, and so many more. I’m not going to give away their spots because reefs are fragile, but, wow. So, so good!

And that doesn’t even address the charter experience as a whole! Great lunch at Lime Out, our first time there, stops on north and south shore beaches and snorkeling spots, sights along Peter Bay, famous houses, famous owners, and lots of boat identifications. The boat had plenty of shade, though you had to move around to stay in the shade. My wife nearly lost a hat but the crew caught it as it blew off her head, which was amazing. We swam in great spots, stopped at great beaches, hung out, went fast (and SMOOTH!) and slow, and had an amazing bespoke charter! It was totally worth chartering with them, and we’re on the verge of chartering a second day because it was so good. Don’t miss the lounge seating on the front of the boat. And, I know this sounds minor, but the boat ladder at the back is a new design, recently installed, and honestly made getting in and out of the boat so easy.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the right people who are curious, thoughtful, and appreciate the amazing experience and commentary throughout the trip. Don’t miss this if you have the opportunity. Is it more than the 30 or 40 person group trip? Yep. And I highly recommend for a group of close friends, 4 to 6 people, or even a larger group who want a team building opportunity, or a once in a lifetime trip. Book the full...

I can't say enough great things about FINNtastic Tours and the Bama Breeze! My family came into St. Thomas on a cruise ship and we wanted something a little more personalized and "away from the crowds". I came across the Bama Breeze and am so glad I did. From the very beginning with the booking process and all the way through the end of our trip was a blast. They made everything so easy! Captain Wit took us out for a 4 hour charter and it was amazing. He is so personable, knowledgeable of the area, and he let us choose exactly what we wanted to do. We snorkled in a private cove, lounged on a private beach, enjoyed some of his delicious rum punch, and he even took us to a pizza sailboat (AMAZING). The trip was exactly what we were looking for and more. We are already talking about coming back to St. Thomas and we will definitely book the Bama...

My friends and I just spent the day on Bama Breeze! We had an incredible day exploring the beautiful waters of USVI with our wonderful captain Nathanial.

Nathanial was SO fun and made our group laugh and smile all day! He was very knowledgeable and told us about every single areas he took us to. He brought us to some of the most amazing snorkeling spots I've ever seen. 2 of my friends had never snorkeled in the USVI before and he gave them an unforgettable experience! He also took us to Lime Out and gave us all the floaties, and paddle board to hang out on while we waited for our tacos. The trip was smooth from start to finish!
