Mavis Discount Tire — Local services in Salem Township

Don't trust them when you make an appointment for work to be done. I reviewed different tire shops in the area and the Hamlin/Lake Ariel came up with great reviews. So, I called on Friday afternoon and was able to get a noon "appointment" to get new tires on two cars. That went pretty well, I'd give a 4-5 stars for that. But, of course, they always find something else wrong. I expected something would else need to be fixed, one of the cars is older. No problem. I spoke with one of the sales people about it, said had to wait until Monday because they needed to get the parts, ok. We asked how long the repairs would take so that we had enough time to get it done on Monday. Maybe two hours or so. OK, no problem, until we get there on Monday around 1:00. The guy told me that I was supposed to call to let them know I was coming that morning. First off, I made an appointment on Saturday, we discussed details.... now you tell me I was supposed to call? No one told us that... Secondly, if an appointment isn't good enough, why make them? Then tell me we could do it the next day - Christmas Eve. Um, so you can give me another song and dance about not being able to get it done? First and last time customer. ...

My wife and I were near the town of Hamlin, PA (7/12) when I noticed our left rear tire was low. Knowing Jack Williams Tire & Auto Service Center (Mavis) was located in town I decided to stop in to fill the tire with air. The technician Neal who met us shortly after we drove in was professional, courteous and ready to fill the tire when he noticed there was not one, but two nails in the tire which he pointed out to me. I asked if the tire could be repaired and he felt certain it could be. Without hesitation he drove the car into a bay, removed the tire and the two roofing nails that were in it, and put a plug in it. He then tested the tire to make certain it wasn't leaking. During the time he was working on the tire we also had the pleasure to meet Adam and Jennifer who were busy at the front desk. They too were friendly, professional and courteous and readily answered any questions we had about the tire repair and pressure monitors. It's been 3 days since the tire was repaired and it hasn't shown any sign of a leak. Thank to all for the great service and for fixing our tire and getting us back on the road. Very much...

I always leave a good review about the Service here. Not today. The Technician rushed through taking my information this morning and didn't listen to half the things I was telling him or make notes properly. I came in for an Inspection, Tire Rotation and Oil Change. I also wanted the Brakes checked and needed to discuss how soon new tires needed to be purchased for the winter. I needed to repeat this to him multiple times because he wasn't paying attention to me. As a result I left my car there all day, never got the tires rotated or an oil change because it wasn't in his notes. I was also told by another Technician that I spoke to about the Tires that morning that I needed to have them rotated on a consistent basis or they would note Pro Rate the next set of Tires I bought from them. Hard to do that when your not rotating them when I bring it in for that exact service and it's not done. Now I have to make arrangements again to leave the car with them for a while day while they actually do the Oil Change and Tire Rotation. This is not a good way to...
