Oregon Board of Massage Therapists — Local services in Salem

I am having the worst time getting my license here. I did everything they asked, yet they do not answer their phones or return emails anymore after complaining. I have left several messages and emails and nothing. They took my money and ran with it after doing everything they required of me. I have been told I am not the only one. They are worse than California. Eventually I will move out of this state as Oregon is not what it use to be. I am super upset as I am losing a lot of money on getting back to work and currently no income at this time due to layoffs within hospitals that I worked for. Now the OBMT is fine tooth combing everything about credentials when I came from another state and have 11 yrs of experience. Now they are going over again the credentialing from school. Can’t get ahold of anyone...It seems they left an outgoing voice mail and then everyone left, seeing as all the voice mailboxes are full. Why should I pay the board renewal fees if I can’t even get anyone to answer a question? The website says what the renewal requirements are reduced and ‘contact’ CEU’s are not required while Oregon is in a state of emergency, however at this point, the state of emergency is set to expire right BEFORE my massage license renewal...so does that mean if I’m not prepared with ‘contact’ CEU’s that I won’t be able to renew? Simple question I can’t get answered because no one will answer the phone in the middle of the day...

I've been an Oregon LMT for over 18 years. I have had a frustrating experiences with the Board in the past, but today, I was totally blessed with the kindness and extreme helpfulness of Ekaette Udosenata-Harruna, Operations and Policy Analyst for the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists. Ekaette also helped me last year, by personally calling in response to my email questions. She is calm, kind, knowledgable and definitely goes the extra mile to solve problems.
