Upon needing a hotel for the evening, Hampton Inn was the only one available, although the cost was not reasonable considering. I was able to check in, but unfortunately was immediately double charged for my room due to the staff stating that the card had not properly wrong through, even though I stated that it said approved on my end nothing showed up on hers. She asked me to again scan my card, I showed her that I had already been charged, after scanning my card again it went through but now I have two charges for one room. I let her know that I was double charge, she again stated that nothing else showed up on her end. unfortunately, she was unable to do anything about my secondary charge, requesting that I come back at a later time and speak to someone else. Frustrated, of course, I went to my room. The room is quite large, clean, no concerns whatsoever. Good condition. Of course, as it is a hotel, there are other people staying here. It sounded like there were perhaps gremlins running across the ceiling until 330 to 4 in the morning. Due to my concerns with a double charge, I wanted to make sure I woke up early to speak to someone. I woke up, went downstairs, spoke with the employee who reiterated that on her end she only had one charge. I showed her the double charge on my card, and explain that I had put my card through twice, because the staff stated that it didn’t go through. Again on my end, I explained that I saw it say approved twice. I explained again that although they only had one charge, I’ve been charged double, equaling to $647. I am concerned since on my end the money was taken, and I saw it get approved. She assured me that only one charge would go through, I just explained that I understood, but I was still being charged double the amount and ask if there was anything that they can do at the moment. Customer service stated no, I would have to wait and I would only be charged for one. I’m sure that the other charge will eventually drop off, but if you are short on funds, it’s frustrating do you have another transaction go through and wait for it to drop off and get access to the funds again. I went across the foyer for the breakfast, the dining area was full of people. It was about 8am. There is juice, oatmeal, the usual coffee and tea. They had some hot food, which stated should be available between 6 and 10am. I figured I would wait to see if I can get a couple pieces of potatoes, or some eggs. They also had a waffle bar but the oatmeal was cold. After waiting a few moments, another employee came out and I was told that the oven was broken and there would be no more hot food I’ve worked in the food service industry, so I understand when they’re just done cooking food. No need to say the oven is broken If you guys don’t wanna keep any more hot food out. Kind of disappointed after being kept up all night. It would’ve been nice to have even my inkling of warm food, considering it was available for the next two hours, and there was nothing. Not the worst hotel, but not the best stay either. Regardless or not if things were outside of the control of the staff, it would’ve been nice to not have been double charged and to have some hot food in the morning when the food says it should be available.

Read moreService was HORRIBLE! Had an emergency and got stranded in Salem. My wallet was stolen and it was pouring down rain. I entered the hotel to find the front desk empty. I called out but no response. I looked around the corner and went into the maids closet to see if anyone was there. As I exited a very unkept male with grungy sweater asked me if I was a guest. I explained my situation and before being able to finish he, very rudely, pointed his finger and stated "you need to leave MY hotel immediately!" I very calmly and un confrontationally said I am not trying to cause trouble just was looking for a place to sit out of the rain until my ride arrived. He wanted nothing if it and continued to point and usher me out. I have NEVER in my life been treated as horribly by a person. Especially someone in the hospitality industry. Furthermore the man had the unmistakable sign of meth teeth and was quite obviously under the influence. How someone of that caliber could obtain a job there is beyond me. I'm sure that hotel is nice and I do not think this speaks towards the hotel as a whole. But I can assure you I personally will NEVER stay at a Hampton inn ever. And everyone I know will hear my experience. I just called and found out the man's name was Ron. He tried to deny it was him and actually lied stating the door was locked and he was at the front desk. He was obviously off doing who knows what but I can guarantee it was not...
Read moreAfter being parked on I5 North for 11 hours just outside of Cottage Grove OR. Due to a terrible ice storm that took down trees, power lines and so many accidents. This hotel was exactly what my husband and I needed to recharge. I called this hotel around 12:30am praying a room would be available. Thank goodness there was. We made it to the hotel at 1:55am. Karen the front desk lady was so welcoming and compassionate. Her kindness helped us relax after such a hectic day of traveling. The room was very well appointed, clean, and fresh. The late breakfast and check out time was very nice. Gave us time to get a great night sleep and get fresh breakfast this morning. I can't say enough positive on this hotel. If we ever find ourselves in Salem Oregon again we will definitely stay at this location again. This Salem Oregon location has really set the bar high for other Hampton hotels. Breakfast this morning was hot and fresh. The breakfast attendant (I didn't catch her name) she made sure everything was hot, fresh and restocked. The two ladies at the desk this morning at check out were just as welcoming and pleasant. Great hotel and fantastic staff. The GM of this location should be very proud of themselves...
