Why on earth are they locking everything up? I wanted a $7.80 roll of automotive wire. It took me over a half hour to get somebody to get it out of the case for me. The first lady I asked just looked at me and kept saying Spanish. So I guess she doesn't speak English. But come on, Walmart, train your employees who don't speak English to call somebody who does to help the customer. Then, after a while, I found a second lady who I asked for help. This lady was rude and yelled at me that she was helping another customer, so I would have to wait. She never returned to help me, and with how she treated me, I was ok not seeing her again. After waiting a while for her to return, I took out my phone and called the store. HR was one of the options I could get connected to, so I chose them. They said somebody would be over soon to help me. And yes, a very nice lady ended up coming to help me. But why is a $7.80 roll of wire locked up? And why was a $1.49 roll of electrical tape also locked up?
Walmart is so worried about people stealing and their shrink number that they are losing sales. I worked in retail for years, and what Walmart seems to be forgetting is that shrink is a percentage of your sales figure. So increase your sales by not locking everything up, and your shrink percent will go down.
I would love to walk that store with a district manager. Just to talk about sales and shrink. Maybe he could explain why a roll of tape that is under 2 dollars...
Read moreI have had the pleasure of being a customer at this Walmart location a few times in the past weeks and I must say that this Walmart set the bar for superior quality customer service. From the greeting smiles as I walked in, to the super leadership of managers Dina, Ellen and Amara, I feel like this Walmart has SO MUCH GOOD going for it! Way to go Walmart Salem. My only complaint is the type of folks who litter disgusting items in the store’s parking lot including used-needles, empty pill bottles, cigarette butts, plastic litter, and furthermore it seems as tho the local city officials do not care enough to prevent troublesome persons from spending the night or daytime there parked while using illegal drugs. This is an issue that is beyond Walmart’s scope of responsibility. That being said, well done Walmart! I hope and pray that the city of Salem, MA gets on the ball and prevents troublemakers from making trouble on the public premises. There are children walking amongst this litter, and I can’t even walk my service dog into the store without fear that he’ll step on someone’s disgusting needle. It’s not about preventing innocent people from staying there (especially overnight passersby) it’s about protecting the integrity of the community and keeping EVERYONE safe. Thanks again Walmart Salem, you’re all All-Stars in my book. May the Good Lord continue to shine a light on all the good deeds and clean friendly service you provided me and the beautiful...
