Normally I really like Insa. Iâve had a couple of weird interactions with cashiers over the past year but nothing I would write a review about.
Today however was just insane. I am 30 years old (important later). I drove my mother to Insa Salem for her first pick up ever from a dispensary. She was nervous as sheâd never been in one before and wanted me to come in with her, but I told her since it was her name on the order and I had left my ID at home that I couldnât go in. She asked if I could walk her to the door, which I did. I wandered off to the side of the parking lot and sat down.
Within a minute a security guard came over and asked for my ID (she was very nice). I didnât realize I needed one to be on the property parking lot, but as soon as she told me I definitely understood (makes sense) and got up with zero problems to walk back towards our car in the Walmart parking lot.
As Iâm walking away I hear someone shouting behind me. Itâs another security guard and sheâs coming at me with such aggression I was truly shocked. She started borderline screaming that unless I had an ID I couldnât step foot on the property (which, ok, I already understood, apologized and was walking away) and then went on to say that they wouldnât help my mother with her order because I had walked on to the property. I wasnât protesting their policy at all, I was complying fully so it really seemed unnecessary to threaten me that way.
I was extremely appalled. I actually thought I was imagining things. I was already walking away when she verbally came at me like that and there was really no need for it. She kept walking towards me as I was walking away - it was really ridiculous. I was mortified as my mom was so nervous/excited for her first dispensary pick up and this is how it went down. They did let her purchase her order, which I do appreciate, but honestly this interaction was enough to make me stay away.
Also they got rid of the one product I really liked so safe to say I donât think...
Read moreI usually avoid this Location because of the long lines and high prices, but I was in the area and didn't feel like driving to the lynnway. As I pulled up the line wrapped around the back of the building. I prepared for a good half hour wait by lighting a cigarette in the way back of the line. Almost immediately I was greeted by employee that explained that there was no smoking on the property. I laughed at first thinking no smoking at a despenesary was somewhat ironic. She pointed to the signs on the side of the building. So I put it out. Apparently me not taking there no smoking policy as seriously as they did put a target on my back for the remainder of my experience.
After waiting a good 20mins i made it into the entrance into the building having my my debit card and id ready. I was asked to remove my sunglasses so they could check my id. ( another laugh considering everyones wearing masks). As I was about to walk to the regiister I was greeted again by another employee asking me to hand over my clipped pocket knife ( it is a high end kershaw I use for work ) . I felt this was strange as I've been in here a hand full of times and no ones ever asked me that before and it's black and I had black pants on you can barley see the clip on my pocket, begrudgingly I handed it over while I made my purchase. ( I didn't wanna waste the wait ) but this was a strange thing to me as I own multiple properties and I'm always at the bank depositing money from tenants and i've never been asked that before. On my way out the same employee who approached me in the parking lot in a very snide manner greeted me with a have a great day almost like she got a weird kick up of messing with me. Don't think I will be back. I understand the establishment has rules and that's fine but im not giving my money to an establishment where the employees get off on some weird power trip if I wanna be treated like a pos ill try to get a table at abe and louies wearing a...
Read moreVery impressed with my first experience at Insa. Ample parking and there was almost no other customer there at 9 when they opened on Thursday. Unlike other dispensaries I have been to in Salem, Insa had an incredible selection of edibles, concentrates and flower for recreational use. With the current hysterical vape ban, no vapes for now, but I bet if they had them they'd likely have a large selection on those as well. I was informed by the woman working security that day (did not catch her name, very friendly and helpful) that even when there is a line, their bud tenders are able to move them through quickly. The space itself is very comfortable, well lit. Wish they kept more of the funky stuff that was stuck to the old building but the new design is very nice looking. The interior has a very nice feel, like a 3rd wave coffee shop met a surf shop and they decided to collaborate on a cannabis dispensary. Pricing is good. Gabby was my bud tender (hope I'm spelling that right!) and she was very helpful, I get the impression everyone there is. I usually don't feel like I have time to ask questions at ATG, but since there was no one else around I bugged her for a bit about their selection, which she was very knowledgeable about, and what she didn't know she was able to find out quickly (not sure how she knew so much off the top of her head to begin with!) Product was high quality, packaging was nice as well. The chew edibles have a lot of extra plastic (likely to ensure it can retain moisture for the chews) and I'd love to see some steps to more renewable packaging. That said, I know functionally (and probably legally) there are some hurdles there. Thanks again for the effort you are all putting into this space, really a MASSIVE step in the right direction for cannabis in...
