Do your research before signing up with this gym. I have been very disappointed. It is extremely overpriced with poor service and staffing. On the positive, it is clean but it should be at the prices charged and not any nicer than the other gym I belong to in Washington DC. Going during peak times makes it challenging to get they equipment you want. Even so, the policies of the gym are what led me to leave this review. When I tried to cancel my month to month membership (with cost around $65 per month with a discount) they indicated they will continue to bill me again in 7 days for an additional month even though I tried to cancel before but their desk is only open after 4:00pm weekdays. In addition to the monthly fee, the gym also charges a yearly “equipment replay fee” they also add to the membership bill one month per year. When I joined, I asked what membership would allow me the most flexibility to cancel as I do not know when I will be required to depart due to my job. When I return to SLC in a few months, I will not be rejoining. I encourage everyone considering to join do their due diligence before signing up with this overpriced and understaffed fitness center. There are many better options available.
Update: After leaving this review, the management refunded the July membership fee. While I appreciate the gesture and did not ask for a refund, a review should not have been needed had they provided better service earlier on. To charge the prices they do and not have staffed offices until 4:00pm weekday for account assistance is not competitive...
Read moreMost of my life, I trained in locally owned "garage" gyms and never imagined I'd be a regular member of a "Big Business" gym, but when my garage gyms all closed throughout the years, I had to branch out to commercial gyms. I've been a member of 4 different chain gyms, and without fail, they've been undermanned, filthy, cluttered, and unenjoyable.
Well, 5th times the charm! THIS Anytime Fitness is immaculate. Even before the Pandemic, these employees were on top of their duties and kept things well managed and under control. The bathrooms are always spotless and smelling fresh, the equipment is rarely out of commission and always maintained to ensure safe performance. Hell, even the floors are clean enough to eat off of! This is by far, the most cared for gym I've trained at.
On top of the immaculate cleanliness, the professionalism of the staff is notable. From the first trial day, the staff has been friendly and supportive beyond expectations. On several occasions, a staff member has walked up and shown genuine interest in my day, my aspirations, and on occasion, even acknowledged my progress. The owners of this gym are definitely doing things right and are clearly passionate about fitness and helping others obtain their goals and ambitions. I highly recommend...
Read moreNO HOSPITALITY. I am a member of anytime fitness and always enjoy visiting new ones when I travel. This time I had forgotten my key fab at home. I had went to the anytime fitness early in the day to see what my options are to still ensure getting a workout. I explained to situation to the employee who told me I was weird for not using the app. (My phone is often dead) then told me to leave and come back later because she had no waivers (I’ve never needed to sign a waiver while visiting another club before) I was frustrated but complied. I called my home club and they told me that this club could issue me a loaner fab for a week. I returned later and a different member of staff told me it would be $49 to access the club for the week. Or I could access it 4-8 pm only on weekdays. This is nonsense. That’s more than my monthly payment to belong to the club. I called the anytime fitness in Midvale letting them know I had forgotten my fab back home. IMMEDIATELY he had told me no charge he would give me a guest pass for a week. This location should learn from the ones that surround it. If it wasn’t for the hospitality I’ve gotten at other locations I would cancel my membership...
