I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Schottās Meat Market at the Alamo Ranch location in San Antonio, Texas. My daughter placed an order for beef sticks to be shipped to Florida for Fatherās Day Unfortunately, there was an issue with the zip code, and the order was returned back to the store.
When I called to resolve the matter, I was connected with a shipping representative named Michelle. From the start, her tone was unnecessarily curt and unprofessional as if I was a bother to her. Rather than assisting with a solution, she was dismissive and made me feel like I was a burden and intentionally hung up on me.
I called back right after to speak with a manager. Due to the lack of courtesy, I asked to speak with a manager or the owner, and was eventually connected to Mike Schottsāwho I later found out is the owner. Shockingly, Mike was even more abrupt than Michelle. Instead of expressing any interest in resolving the issue or valuing me as a long-time customer, his response was essentially, āWhat do you want?āāas though I was an inconvenience for reaching out. It was not just unhelpfulāit was outright disrespectful. Michelle had told him that I was yelling at her and making up lies as to why she hung up on me. Mike said I was very rude to her when that is false.
As someone who has supported this business for years and spent a considerable amount of money here, this treatment was completely unacceptable. I have heard some rumblings that there are some racial tensions but never experienced it til now. The public deserves to know who they are dealing with before placing large orders or relying on this business for quality customer service. Itās incredibly unfortunate that a local business would treat loyal customers in this way.
I wonāt be returning, and I urge others to think twice before placing an order with Schottās Meat Market, especially at the Alamo...

I asked for the marinated white meat fajita sliced thin over the phone for pick up. When I got there and told him the name for the order he tosses the chicken on the counter and walks away. It looks like they dropped a teaspoon of seasoning into a plain chicken breast bag and sealed it up. I couldn't ask the guy behind the counter anything since he already walked away not even asking if I needed anything else. If you can't open a bag of the properly seasoned chicken fajita and cut it for me thats fine but you can just say so and lose the attitude. It's a shame people like this work here, I've otherwise always...

The prices are excellent... and the customer service is beyond excellent! I contacted Schotts with questions on amounts to buy for entertaining, and for items I couldnt find anywhere ( and they carried) and orders! Beau answered almost as soon as I emailed my questions or requests! I havent experienced that kind of customer service in years ...so..Don't bother with supermarket meat, poultry or any kind of meat elsewhere...shop at Schotts!
