I liked the place. Very nice, comfortable and the service not as good as I expected (I will tell you at the end). I still don't know how to order coffee the way I like it, but I'm sure I'm going back to the place to enjoy the place more and try one by one the variety of coffee they have. What I didn't ask was the type of coffee bean they use. What I did not agree with (although I know it is a small additional expense) was that I asked to change the first coffee with milk for an espresso, which surprised me. They did not ask me what happened to my coffee, if it was good or not, they simply told me, an additional charge would be charged, which I accepted. As another disappointment, is that they do not sell 8oz coffee, which for me would be more accurate to ask for the coffee that I like, since I know how to order it, but being a 12-ounce coffee upwards, that detail makes the difference. For this reason, in the change to espresso coffee, I asked them to try to serve it at 8 ounces, which they tried, but were unsuccessful. They gave me only half the cup of coffee and 25% was foam. I DON'T LIKE FOAM. You can imagine, but it was not bad for me, it is a process of knowing the place and seeing how they work. But yes, my criticisms are always that they do not ask the customer what they want or not in the coffee and that is part of the service. An example of an excellent service, which I saw in Puerto Rico, in a place where they sell coffee (I don't mention the name because I don't promote the place) is the following: 1. Greetings, 2 they ask you what kind of coffee you want, 3. How do you want it, hot or cold, 4. what kind of milk do you drink, 5. with or without foam, 6. to go? 7. and more ... in short, have the client feel that they do care and...
Read moreA ‘Cold’ Experience at Summer Moon Coffee
Ah, Summer Moon Coffee, a beacon for all who yearn for the olden days when coffee was, well, just coffee. Eager for a classic cuppa Joe, I waltz in, my order echoing the simplicity of times past. A coffee with cream, you know, the blonde kind.
In response, my coffee arrives donning a goth look, black as the night. I meander back to the bar, apparently as invisible as Casper to the bustling baristas, prioritizing the drive-through line like it's the red carpet at Cannes. When I finally flag someone down, I’m greeted with an attitude that would make Oscar the Grouch blush.
Oh, and a note to future patrons, COVID or not, your cream pouring privileges are revoked here. The staff has a Goldilocks issue - it's either too little or too much. My coffee turned from a black night to a white blizzard in one splash, with a side of silent judgement.
Adding the cherry on top, my coffee was as cold as the Arctic Tundra. My attempt to warm it up was met with eye rolls and snickers. I'm no barista, but I was under the impression coffee was typically served hot, not as an iced surprise.
To summarize, if you pine for the days when customer service and a simple hot coffee reigned supreme, look elsewhere. At Summer Moon Coffee, if your order doesn't require a doctoral degree in coffee-making, you're just an afterthought. Drink water instead; it's less of an inconvenience.
For those who prefer the watered-down version: Bad service, cold coffee, and serious attitude problem at Summer Moon Coffee. Won't be...
Read moreService is a joke, even if you tell them its your first time don't expect any help in figuring out what anything on the menu is. I went knowing that already from reading other reviews so I had gone online and looked at the menu so I would know what I wanted when I walked in and guess what, what they had was different than the online menu and nothing was labeled. I guessed something was a jalapeño scone but it was pimento so I guessed on lemon bread and got that. I got the half summer moon lattee I think, it was too sweet so I would recommend the 4th unless your looking for a coffee milkshake cause what I drank was not a coffee but a coffee dessert drink that upset my stomach. When we were there it was loud from construction next door at times, but overall I did not like the atmosphere of the place before the noise even started, it was cold and the only place for us to sit was in back because no other seating could have 3 people looking at each other and talking, its kind of set up for people to sit alone with earbuds and stare at a screen. I don't know, its close to a high school and I think its set up for kids, I think that is the only people who would...
