I’m so happy to have stumbled upon this quaint little Turkish market during the art & wine Faire. So many gorgeous Turkish delights, pastries, baklava in the front case and they serve fresh Turkish coffee! Also so many interesting imported beverages (like flavored mineral waters), chocolates, nuts, snacks, teas and other neat pantry goods. I yearned for a cultural addition to Laurel street just like this one :)

Found this bazaar/grocery store one afternoon. On a Thursday afternoon in San Carlos it’s not busy at all and there’s parking close by. What a cool place! For $6 I tried Turkish coffee which is served with a small sweet called lokum. Rice pudding served with cinnamon and hazelnuts is $6.99. The store is carb heaven- so many kinds of Turkish sweets and cookies. Now to go to Istanbul!

Hey, it’s a unique store and you can get Turkish stuff you can’t find easily elsewhere. We bought a couple Turkish delight rolls which are charged by weight. The fudge one was the best but the purple and pistachio nut one was also good. The baklava was nice. Or overly sweet and just the right amount of crumblyness.

Stumbled on this new market yesterday. Cute little place with a great variety of Turkish foods. Walked to the back to find the butcher and grabbed a package of their pre-made, uncooked kofta. To go with, bought a container of labneh and a package of fresh baked flatbread with sesame seeds. Had some friends over for dinner and my husband cooked the kofta over charcoal along with some lamb chops. He toasted the bread on there and we served it all with labneh & cucumber salad and roasted peppers. It was incredibly delicious… we will definitely be back to buy more fresh meats and try...

Grand Bazaar Foods is not just a simple, local store. It’s a place that brings world-famous Turkish and Anatolian tastes and culture to the Bay Area. It serves as a bridge and connects people with traditional delights, deserts, coffee, tea and lots of goodies. It’s like a branch of the big Grand Bazar in Istanbul. You can definitely get a nice Turkish&Anatolian vibe, energy and hospitality in here… Happy shopping!...
