The Japanese Friendship Garden is within Balboa Park and has a very elegant, simple and serene design. The garden has a lot of water streams with cross bridges and a beautiful koi pond at the end. They had an art installation in this place when we came through here called 50 artists 50 fish. It was exactly what it sounds like, 50 different artists' interpretation of fish. Very nice place to hold any kind of party. Could use stairs from upper garden to lower garden. The food was exquisite for the wedding attended. The staff may have needed a bit of extra planning when it came to timing of the schedule. Not sure if that pertains to venue. The security was on top of their posts as well....
