Extremely fast yet efficient, and the ladies are all SO frank about what your hair needs and doesn't need because they care about the longterm health of the hair (which is a thing I love about korean haircare). I wish I had taken a proper "before picture", because it was...tragic. I have extremely damaged hair after multiple bleachings, plus I have a LOT of hair so it ends up a tangled lion's mane. IGNORE my bleached hair in the pictures, the hair coloring was NOT done at this salon.
Hana, the senior hairstylist, fixed up my hair by trimming off about 4 inches and thinning some, but she didn't thin out too much because she told me it wouldn't be good for my already damaged hair. Fast and neat, all while training the other ladies. It was about 50 minutes total, and half of that was probably spent trying to brush out my tangled mess, honestly.
Also very very affordable!! Please visit and get this salon out there so they stay here for a long time (that way I'll finally have a regular...
Read moreI’ve come to this salon several times and generally I have been satisfied. However the past two times that I have gotten my hair colored and cut by Lucky the service and the result were far below my expectations. Firstly she rushed to cut my hair in the beginning of the session without asking me what I wanted and messed up my hairline. Then after, she did not follow my request for the sides of my hair (Mid-taper starting at a 0.5 and blending upwards). The color portion was just as underwhelming as the highlights were very blocky and did not resemble the picture that I showed at all. Finally time management was a huge issue as I felt that she rushed parts of the process such as the haircut but spent way too much time on the coloring portion for it to turn out less than ideal for my liking. As a customer who has gone here for about a year and some change I do not think I would want to return to get my hair styled here which is unfortunate because I have recommended them to friends...
Read moreThis is a great, under-radar salon. I ended up here by coincidence, but I'm happy that I did.
There are a few other Korean salons widely recommend (especially Sunny Day). Before coming to Kakopoko, I tried to get an appointment at three other places, but those others were all fully booked. Kakopoco got me in same day.
Very knowledgeable Korean stylists. You can ask for popular cuts by name ("two-block") and they will know how to do it, as well as customize it so that it looks best for your face.
Very meticulous and double/triple check all the details.
Great price. $30 for a men's cut, whereas other salons are charging around $50.
The ladies were all super nice and accommodating.
The building is a little bit sketchy, but not a big deal for the great...
