I was craving some Korean food late in the evening and found a place open until 1:30am, so I dragged my friend to try it out with me. When we arrived, the waitress barely acknowledged us, leaving us to stand awkwardly at the door until she finally waved us to a table at the back. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, so we were surprised by the waitress's short and upset demeanor. It took a few minutes for her to bring us menus and water. After we ordered, we decided to draw on the blackboards covering the walls around our seat.
We ordered dduboki, sweet chili drumsticks, pork katsu, and a regular lychee soju cocktail. When everything arrived, we were pleased with the large portions. However, we noticed we received a large cocktail instead of a regular one. Despite trying to get the waitress's attention multiple times, we were ignored, so we ended up keeping the large drink.
Thoughts on the food: Dduboki: The classic dduboki is hard to mess up. Despite the $15 price point suggesting something special, it tasted good, though not exceptional for SoCal. 7.5/10 Sweet chili drumsticks: One of my favorite dishes at Korean restaurants is their fried chicken. These were fantastic with perfectly crispy skin and a sweet yet spicy sauce. 9.2/10 Pork Katsu: This dish leaned towards the drier side. The flavor was good, but the pork was too thin compared to the crust. 5/10 Lychee soju cocktail: A tasty cocktail that made the night more fun. The large size was meant for sharing, but I enjoyed...
Read moreCame again 4 years later. Food was worse. I didn't think it could happen. Gave it 3 stars now 1 star only. Food is so bad.... so bad. Seafood pancake was bland and you could taste the frozen seafood being frozen before. We also came across 2 drunkards. People were smoking 5 feet away from the entrance. Awful experience.
Second time here a couple years later... I'm not sure what happened but my experience was quite bad. First off, we waited at least 20 minutes before we had any food on our table(not even the side dishes). Please don't come hungry or else you would be hangry. Second, I understand that fusion food is the selling point, but you can't just mix everything together and call it a fusion dish. I had the bulgogi quesadilla, but it was more like tortillas with bulgogi in the middle. The quesadilla was falling apart. Cheese was on top of the tortillas. There was bell paper in the quesadilla. What's going on? Seafood pancake was awful. I order a seafood pancake at every restaurant I go to, and this one is probably one of the worst I have ever had. I say the spam fried rice is the best for this dinner, but I mean... I wouldn't come back for spam...
Read moreNever have I seen worse service until I visited here. Two waitress just hanging around talking, eating and going on their phone at their own table. Not once did they come to our table to check on us. One of the waitress (shorter one) brought a soup dish out and accidentally spilled on the table in which she did say sorry but it would of been nice to offer to clean it up with a towel or even provide napkins. She brings out the army stew next and puts it in the stove and says “do you want to turn it on yourself or…”, we decided to just turn it on ourselves as it’s obvious they do not care about their job. We ask for the bill and the other girl (taller with face mask) would just turn her body away from us right away as she’s dropping and collecting the bill. They are also wearing gloves as they clean up tables and serve the dish. We have no idea if it’s the same gloves used for cleaning. You would think gloves are only needed for cleaning. I have a feeling they don’t have a manager or supervisor on shift because how can they allow people to...
