I went to Pacific Beads for the first time a couple of days ago (with the intent of buying items for my coworkers as I am retiring)… I was (am) so amazed by the incredible, amazing energy of the store, not just from the vast array of lovely stones, rocks, and crystals——but the beautiful energy emanating from the people who work there!…. The owner greeted me when I came in (and there were a lot of customers in the store), and he was so wonderful, explained their pricing (which is really unreal, in a good way)! There was so much to see and choose from, and I was there over an hour. I was asked quite a few times if I needed any help—-not in an intrusive manner but in a truly warm and genuine way. The person who ‘rang me up’ thanked me & shook my hand, he had an awesome demeanor! As I left the store, i felt like I was in a daze—-amazed & ‘blown away’ by all the kindness I felt, and very thankful for the experience!… I am so happy to have discovered this...
Read moreLots of semi-precious stone and freshwater pearl beads to choose from. A few crystal, glass, ceramic, coral, and plastic beads as well. Silver pendants and rings are available in display cases. They also sell loose crystals and minerals, as well as some carved geodes, which were pretty interesting.
When you come in, you will be handed a basket, and a pair of scissors. Bead strands are tied up in groups along the walls and display shelves. You pick the strand you want and cut it from the bunch.
Freshwater pearls, amber, silver, and a few other types of beads are sold by weight. Beading wire is on large reels and sold by the foot. Wire-wrapping supplies are also available.
This location also offers beading and wire-wrapping classes, but I have not yet taken one here.
The feel of the store is more like a wholesaler or wharehouse. They offer a paid membership program with a steep discount. The prices are good if you are going to get a...
Read moreAbsolutely my favorite small business in San Diego. Shlomo and his team always make my family and I feel welcome, with exceptional, friendly and humorous customer service, snacks, extra discounts and even some generous freebies like the lotto tickets (we come a lot between picking up orders from the live shows to picking up gifts and beads and beading supplies with my budding teen entrepreneur). The selection and variety is lovely, as is the quality and with super affordable sometimes unbelievably accessible prices. I especially love the jewelery designed by the owner, Shlomo- very unique, high quality, beautiful, often times one of a kind pieces. So grateful to live in the same town as this precious gem of a business in...
