Vons Pharmacy — Local services in San Diego

I am really surprised by the negative reviews. I used this pharmacy today for the first time and had excellent customer service. I'm with an HMO so I normally get all of my prescriptions through them but this was something outside of my network and a cash payment so I went to my local Vons.

First of all, the pharmacy assistant (Riza) asked if I had a coupon which I did but totally forgot about. This was a very expensive Rx so I'm glad she asked in that it saved me almost $100. Then she even went the extra step to look online to see if she could find a better coupon for me. Who does that without being asked?! Since I wasn't familiar with this pharmacy and how to get refills, she then walked me through how to go about getting future refills (and even offered to set me up for automatic refills) as this is a medication that has to be ordered ahead of time. And then even told me how to order refills through the Vons app. If that isn't going the extra mile, I don't know what is.

I then met with the pharmacist who very thoroughly explained the medication and ensured I had the proper documentation to submit through my flexible spending account.

I had such a positive experience and I'm so glad I wasn't influenced by the online negative reviews and chose to fill my prescription here. It really is about the individual interactions you have with people that drive someone to write a review and I get that but I wanted to take the time to write a positive review. Perhaps this pharmacy had staff who weren't customer service oriented in the past but that was certainly not my...

Went for my Covid booster and that went very well. I had an appointment and was taken quickly. Personnel were friendly and efficient.

Previously I had tried to drop off expired drugs at the Von's on Scripps Ranch Boulevard. The expired drug container was locked and unfortunately I had arrived during the lunch hour.

It would have been helpful to have the hours posted on the container when it is open for the deposit of expired drugs.

At the Scripps Poway Parkway Von's pharmacy the expired drug drop off container was also locked. The pharmacist on duty was a substitute and the key to the drop off box was not available.

Two tries to drop off expired drugs at 2 different Vons...

I am unhappy with the service in this pharmacy . My friends and family including some physicians said the same thing and they refused to fill prescriptions here after a few encounters. This pharmacy does not need customers in my opinion ! But in reality, how can a business runs without customers?? I tried to fill prescriptions at this place for many years due to convenience ; however, I don’t mind to drive a bit farther but happier .
