This NEW Seafood restaurant is going to be my go to from now on! located in the beautiful Scripps Ranch, this family owned seafood spot is serving some of the freshest seafood all at affordable prices and generous portions. It was so good I literally went back the next day. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious from their signature poke nachos to entrees like the ginger garlic shrimp. If you love fish, they have it in sandwich, taco, burrito or a classic plate grilled form.
They also have an amazing happy hour with $1.50 oysters, $2 fish tacos and beer specials. Trust me on Surfside! You will fall in love like I did.

Cons: The food lacked flavor. I ordered the fish and chips and the batter had no flavor. The only thing enhancing the flavor were the sauces that were included. The "chips" were just your average soggy fries. The coleslaw included was utterly inedible. It just didn't taste right and was a bit confusing because it wasn't exactly a coleslaw or a salad. They have a soda machine that's way in the corner (the location just didn't make sense) and it offered soft drinks from a brand I've never heard of. They also had your typical cans of Coke, but you have to go to the soda machine to dispense your own ice.
I don't think I will be returning. Honestly, I think I might be coming down with...

The fish and chips were awesome, with crispy and fresh pieces of fish and good fries, too. Only gripe is they give you a small side of tartar sauce, but like everything else, it was tasty. Pro tip: douse the fries in malt vinegar, the flavors pop. Place was packed but minimal wait time for our food. Great ambiance as well.
Edit: forgot to mention that the coleslaw was the best I've had. It had wontons in it with an Asian themed dressing, I think. This gave it a unique taste and crunch that was a welcome addition to the meal. I usually hate coleslaw, but...
