Wanna hear a story? All tucked in? Here...we go.

Once upon a time very long ago back in the 80s, this plaza was erected. I remembered coming here and parking was never a problem (You know how painful it is now with so many Chinese drivers, even with the underground parking) In the same shopping center, the department store was upscale back then (Not like 2nd rate items they sell here now) There was never a light back then on Del Mar by the entrance. (So you can imagine how difficult it was to get in and out of here)

As for the inside, it is just massive. I believe this is probably the biggest 99 Ranch that I have ever been to. They need it, there's a lot of foot traffic for this store. The best part about this place is the grocery and the meat /seafood. Grocery is a plenty here and they fry the fish for you for free back then. (I'm not sure about now). The prices are okay here, especially when it's on sale.

Layout is similar to that of other 99 Ranch stores where you can find a bread section, a hot food section, a newspaper / expensive liquor section. What I really like here is that you can get soy milk via some of the local vendors, like VK. (Although they are only maybe 2 miles down the street). I like also getting the dry spicy bean curd snacks here. Lines are never long here unless you come here on the weekends. Oh yeah, there are enough checkouts here if they have enough cashiers on hand.

Don't park on the left side of the store along the side. It will take you forever to get out as people are driving in. If you do have to park there, see if you can back in.

You'll find me here rarely nowadays. But this was my first 99 Ranch and it always reminds me of good memories...

So I already check out. I was waiting by the door for my mother. My mom is 75 she dident know she lined up at the self check out. But when she got there instead of explaining to my mom that she can’t pay in cash the lady just yelled at her. My mother does not deserve that kind of treatment. What kind of customer service is this. I was so outraged so I went over there and told the lady I’ll help my mom with the check out. So I headed my mom the groceries I already pay for. She then goes and ask me for the receipt and reprimanding me that I shouldn’t walk over to the check out area since I already paid. She looks through my groceries and made me feel like a criminal. It was such a horrible experience. They need to have better customer service at this day and age. It’s not right to treat elderly or your customer like that some people might think it’s ok but I really don’t think I will ever go back. I would be on if she asked nicely but she just kept throwing words at me. Not even the security guard do anything yet she was just be so mean to us. Is it because we don’t dress like rich people? I hate how some people are so judgmental. If she thinks we are stealing there are better ways then how she did . Luckly I brought a small bag to go shopping with I bet she would want to raffle though my tote bag if I brought one....

I used to shop here this store in general is really nice and today I used self checkout for today because there was no line and I had less products so I was taking my time checking out the products and why this old lady started snatching the product I’m checking out(when I didn’t even ask for help)and threw that aggressively to the side because she was frustrated for no reason when there were no other people using the self checkout. She was literally rushing us and treated so rudely but when other customer(who speaks same language as her which is Mandarin I believe )came and ask her question she was so nice to that lady but rude to me and my family just because we don’t speak same language as her and have different race from her, I unfortunately didn’t look at her name but she was cleaning around self checkout area she was wearing glasses and has short Dora the Explorer haircut age is about 40-50. I hope other customers don’t get treated like this ever based off their racial backgrounds. I’m really disappointed in how this employee treat to people based of different racial backgrounds even though the market has really nice products and I love shopping here often. Not only she treated us rudely but she even gave me dead stare as if she was about to fight me I felt...

I usually come here for the Bento's. So glad they've slashed the price back to something normal, and don't skimp on portions any more. Inflation was really getting to us all. But otherwise, is this the cheapest grocery store in the area? No, there definitely not as cheap as the guys across the street, but they're still decently priced, and ever since they remodeled years ago, it's much cleaner --although that was also about the same time they changed some of their selections, and things weren't as cheap as before, and this was well before the pandemic. Still not a bad spot to hit up for your groceries. The old East West Bank kiosk they had at front is now replaced with claw arcade machines for your kids to think they can win a prize.

Great bakery department. Good inventory of popular geocery items, not likely to run out. Seafood department is also well stocked. Fruits and vegetables are well stocked too. Nice tidy place for good grocery shopping experience! They have a small food court inside with tables and chairs, right next to the bakery. They have hot cafeteria-style combinations you can order as well, with popular selections such as broccoli beef, kung pao chicken, etc.; and they also offer a smaller selection of breakfast and dim sum items too. If that doesn't work, there is also a large number of specialty restaurants in the same shopping mall.
