New ownership with a new name from Empress Shiatsu to Massage Queen. Massage Queen is owned by Chinese, but they'll able to communicate with you (minimal English). The pricing here is standard with all the competition around the San Gabriel area.
Body Massage (60mins; $30) + Foot Massage (60 mins; $20) = $50
What makes this place stand out is that it's remodeled, clean, and new! My massage always been great here leaving me satisfied and relaxed minus the happy endings for all the perverts out there. Massage Queen is legit!
I wouldn't say they are the most professional masseuses, but they know how to work their hands on your tired body. Expect the place to be a little noisy with the chatters among the masseuses and perhaps a call or two interrupting your session.
If you do the combo, you can always start off with either the foot or body massage depending on your preference. Here's the general breakdown of what you can expect on your $50 session for 2hours:
seated in general area- soak your feet- massage head- massage neck- massage right arm- massage left arm- massage left foot- massage right foot- moved to private room- body massage-
Massage Queen also has rooms with two beds for friends or couples that would like to get their massage together. I would also recommend getting down just to your underwear when you're on the bed for your body massage.
They take walk-ins, but call ahead and make an appointment if you want to go after dinner. It's always packed late at night, especially Friday and Saturday....
Read moreI had a good first experience here. $30 for one hour and $15 tip.
Came back and now it’s $40 for one hour and the masseuse demanded $70. I sent $57 and she said $20 tip and wouldn’t let me leave till I sent her the extra $3. I felt so uncomfortable as a female being locked in a store until I tipped what THEY wanted. A tip should be how much I want it to be… not how much the employee wants. As a hairdresser, I also work in the service industry and I understand that a tip should never be expected or demanded a certain amount. This left a really nasty taste in my mouth. I hope that extra $3 was worth it for the masseuse because she just lost out on a bi-weekly client that could’ve paid her hundreds over the next few months. 🤷🏻♀️ The owner needs to teach their employees on professionalism and how to not bully customers because you’re losing business from this. I’m not the only complaint on here about this MAJOR issue. If you’re reading this, you may have one or two good experiences here until you run into a bad employee who tries to shiest you for an over 50% tip.
Update: the store owner reached out to me and apologized for the poor treatment from their employee. They offered me a redo of the service and it was much better. No demanding for a bigger tip this time. I...
Read moreI went to get a massage with my girlfriend and we got 90m together, and my masseuse came in quite a while after my girlfriend started, out of breath, and started right away. The masseuse was very insincere, had no pressure at all, and didn't seem to know the spot at all. Even though after my girlfriend finished, my person was in a hurry with insincere and finished it. I get massages so much that I get them every other week, and I remembered going to this place often about 3 years ago, so I went there after a long time, and it was the worst massage I've ever had. So I didn't want to tip, but I did tip a little. But she asked for a more tip and even though I told her I wasn't satisfied, she insisted on giving me a more tip so I had no choice but to pay more. When I got home and checked, I noticed hives on my arms I don't know what oil they were using. I don't plan on going...
