Mia Hair Design — Local services in San Gabriel

I went to Mia hair design for high hope due to other Google review but I was disappointed. First the owner doesn't disclose the digital perm price $325 not including hair cut at the beginning. So I was not knowing until I got to pay and I was charged additional $75 for hair cut and added up to $400 in total in the end. It may be common in LA area per owner explained but not for my previous experience. Second, I wasn't been treated respectively during service. I want to communicate a bit more details about the hair style I want. Owner cut off me and said I should finish communication within 3 mins. Any word outside 3 mins is meaningless and inefficient communication and I should just shut up and see the results. I was wanting to understand a bit more about the different products at different price levels. I was told I won't understand even I looked at them. I was shocked since I have never been told like this in any service before. The results is somehow different than I was expected, part of that due to owner don't want to talk more about what customer really wants. I was spent half price before to get more closer to what I like. Friends said I looked old after this perm . I gave 3 stars bc owner still took effort to finish up my perm and close salon much later than regular time, so I appreciate this. Pretty mediocre place. A bit pricy for the result. The owner doesn’t speak English, but she is heart warming, just a bit too talkative most of the time. Hard for someone just want a decent haircut and avoid talking to sit in.

I've spend $220 USD for a root touch up + haircut, and the owner said a set of her shampoo is about $14 USD (100 Chinese Yuan= $14 USD) per set. Do the math.

This is San Gabriel California United States by the way, not some "Chinese area". I am more than happy to embrace multicultural businesses, I just hope they can function like multicultural businesses, which make people from diverse background more...

The best and the most professional hair salon in LA. I dyed my hair for the first time in my life and I have to be honest that I have never feel this handsome and confident. I bleached my hair twice and based on my hair condition I would have bleached four times in any other salon. More importantly, it DOES NOT hurt!! It was such a great experience at this salon; the charge fee is incredibly ethical and reasonable. I bleached my hair twice, got the color dyed and my hair cut. Everything included was like 300 bucks. You would never get this kind of service elsewhere with this price. After visiting here, I will never go to any other...
