If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience at Calderon’s Tires on Monterey Road was one of the most frustrating and shady I’ve had when dealing with auto shops. Me and a friend went in to get a simple alignment done — nothing complicated, just a routine service. But as soon as we started asking about pricing, things felt off.

They quoted us $200 for the alignment, which blew my mind. I’ve been to Calderon’s before with a different car and paid way less for the exact same service. So I knew right away that something was wrong. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of us just because we didn’t act like we knew better. That’s what it was — a straight-up price gauge.

To make things even worse, they didn’t give us a printed receipt or a proper quote. Instead, they literally wrote the price down on a little note, like they were trying to avoid leaving a paper trail. When we tried to confirm the price with the lady at the front desk, she disagreed with what the mechanic had just told us and acted like it had never been said. No communication, no consistency, and no accountability — just shady behavior all around.

It honestly felt like they were making up prices on the spot and hoping we’d just go along with it. I’ve heard of shops like this, but I didn’t expect it from a place I’ve been to before. There was no honesty, no integrity — just a clear attempt to overcharge and confuse the customer.

Thankfully, we didn’t fall for it. We decided to take the extra 5-minute drive down Monterey Road to Elite Tires and Custom Wheels, and the difference was like night and day. Their service was professional, the pricing was clear and fair, and they didn’t play any games. The same alignment cost much less than what Calderon’s tried to charge — and they actually printed a quote, explained everything, and stood by their word.

Bottom line: Calderon’s Tires is NOT a trustworthy shop. They constantly change their prices, they’re disorganized, and the way they operate feels deliberately misleading. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you’re considering going here, do yourself a favor — drive a little farther down the street and get treated right by a shop that actually respects its customers.

The WORST experience I’ve ever had at this tire shop. When I arrived I noticed at their shop, one of the employees were arguing with the customer. I’m not sure who was right and who was wrong but the argument started heating up, and some how the customer backed down. Now it comes my turn. The employee who was working on my car, stated that I need two replacement tires, and he quoted me $140 for both plus the repair of the 3rd tire. I requested if they can charge $120 instead? He advised me to talk to the manager, but as soon as I walked in manger’s room the same guy was telling the manager in his language and showing him the tires which he proposed to install, that language which I couldn’t understand but I repeated my request to the manager, SHOCKINGLY, the manager said both tires are for $160 instead. I said but your employer quoted me $140? Manager said he can’t lower the price than what was quoted. I accepted and asked them to proceed. Once the job was done I paid to the manager and gave tip to the person who worked in my car. And while I was sitting in the car smoking my cigarette, another employee approached me aggressively and demanded that I move out from the customer area as it was a non smoking area. I asked him instead of getting aggressive with me YOUR management should’ve put signs non smoking area. That agent lied and said there are signs and when I asked where were the signs posted at? he failed to show me. I then made a video of the customers are where there was no visible non smoking signs area.. I will NOT visit this store of ignorant people and won’t advise anybody to go there, because they have tendency to lie to your face. Stay away...

I forget not to go to this location and ended up going there today. First, this place is very untrustworthy. The lady owner lies credit card machine does not work and then she says $8 extra for credit card. Second, she does not issue bill. So no clue on details of charges and prices. I was spellbound. Third, they don’t honor other locations as they are independent franchise I hear. Fourth, the owner says rotation not included for 2 tire purchase unlike other locations. They also dramatize not understand English and feel they can get away with that.

Further I came to know they charged 25% more on total compared to Walmart and others. When I called in, I was shocked to hear their beating around the bush talk. Bottom line, They do not care for customers or reviews as I hear.

Lastly she lies other things on face smoothly and confidently. The whole experience was utterly pathetic and painful waste of time. I learnt my lesson here - avoid at all costs - not...
