Deli by Caliva — Local services in San Jose

The female staff at the front desk were nice enough, and the price on some of the medicine was pretty inexpensive. HOWEVER!!, 1, there is NO RESTROOM for disabled customers! That should not be allowed. This is an establishment that serves the public. So if you use public transportation to get here, keep that in mind. 2, its CASH ONLY, just like most. And 3, they give you this huge envelope which is then stuffed into a large shopping bag, and it is supposedly mandatory. After research, and a phone call to the city, I found out that this is not a requirement by law. This is a waste, because the second I was outside, it was in a trash barrel. I'm sure I'm not the only customer who has done this. Overall, I'd say this place comes in handy if your budget is limited at the time. STAFF are 6 star! I give three stars solely because every where else in all of cali includes tax in display price except caliva. So for the love of Jesus do us stoners who are chronically bad at math please include tax in the display price. Makes it difficult to budget properly as the ability to figure out the percentage to add for tax and add everything up while subtracting from my budget is like Stephen hawking trying to communicate what hawking radiation is and that in a trillion years or so black holes will dissipate all by wiggling his little useless finger in the air and staring at you so with his eyes so crossed your positive he is a secret wizard who can see the future through the side...

Deli has a nice homey feel. It’s small but the selection is good and the staff is friendly. Deli takes debit cards which is very nice. I recently visited again, at the last minute right before they closed. There was no impatience and Olabissa was very helpful! Update; I went back today and was helped by Stefano. He was good and didn’t rush me or any of the customers. He was the only one handling sales and they were doing a pretty brisk business. They had great choices and even some new stuff. I love the staff here!
