I had the worst medical experience of my life at Good Samaritan Emergency. Beware of Charge Nurse Coordinator Russ Anktins and the nurse Kylieâthey can make things super difficult for you, and you wonât be able to do anything about it. I took my mom to the emergency room, where we were left waiting for a while. When I finally approached the person at the desk to ask when my mom would get her scan, I mentioned that the CT scan room appeared to be empty. Instead of addressing my concern, Russ Anktins rudely criticized me, asking how I could have possibly seen the CT scan room. I explained that the door had opened on its own when we walked by when my mom was assigned to the room, and he sarcastically asked if I saw anyone inside. When I said no, his response was even more dismissive, showing a complete lack of care for patients. This experience was shocking and unacceptableâIâve never encountered such unprofessional behavior in any medical facility before. It was just a simple question. Then I asked for his name, things only got worse afterward. Because he is the one in charge of coordinating patient care, managing resources in the emergency room.
We were then assigned a nurse named Kylie, who was incredibly mean to us. My mom, who is in her 70s, hadnât had anything to eat or drink all day. She was crying, moaning, and was clearly in distress, which I repeatedly told the nurses, but they just kept telling us to wait. so I stepped out of the room to get assistance. Kylie came over, closed the door, and wouldnât let me leave the room.My mom has to use the restroom and I need to get some water, she and another nurse will come over to warn us not to leave the room. We need water and use the restroom!!! Kylie even blamed us, saying it was our fault my mom hadnât eaten in the morning. My mom had fainted at home the last time this happenedâhow could we have possibly enjoyed a meal before coming in?
My mom came to the ER with high blood pressure of 130/140, which later worsened to over 220. I went to inform the nurse, but they dismissed it as normal, closed the door, and warned me not to leave the room. What??? No nurse came to check on her, and I couldnât get any help when things got worse? This is unbelievable.
Some nurses attempted to poke my mom several times but couldnât find a vein. I requested an ultrasound to locate the vein, but Kylie said she wasnât trained in ultrasound and refused to find anyone who was. Eventually, I managed to get someone to help. Then we waited for another several hours, though the CT scan itself only took a few minutes. I asked the technician why it took so long to wait, and he said they had just received the notification to say my mom is ready. But we had been ready several hours earlier. It was obvious that someone didnât enter my momâs name into the system right away or get deprioritized. I donât know what happened in the back , but we arrived at the emergency room early in the morning and didnât leave until 6:30 PM, all for just a CT scan.
However, I must give credit to Dr. Limâheâs an amazing doctor. He checked on my mom several times and made sure she was okay, comforting us and putting us at ease.
In summary, we were subjected to discriminatory treatment, and the entire experience was horrible. Some of the nurses there were not only unprofessional but also completely indifferent to our well-being, even putting us in a worse situation. You have no idea what might happen behind the scenes because they hold...
Read moreOn the night of August 14th, 2025 (after 9 PM PST), I brought my wife, to your Emergency Room due to chest pain, heart palpitations, and acute anxiety. What followed was one of the most painful and disappointing healthcare experiences we have ever had, leaving my wife physically injured and emotionally traumatized.
During the admission process, Nurse Tobin attempted to draw blood but clearly lacked the necessary training and skill. Despite my wifeâs fragile state and increasing palpitations, he repeatedly stuck her arm, failing to draw blood, causing her severe pain, bruising, and visible damage (documented with photographs taken even 5 days after the incident). He then resorted to a vein-finding machine but still could not succeed, effectively treating my wife as a practice subject rather than a patient in need of urgent care.
When I demanded he stop, another nurse tried again, repeating the same mistakes, causing additional injury, swelling, and rashes to her right arm. Eventually, the head nurse intervened and finally succeeded in drawing blood from her left arm, but by then, both arms were bruised, swollen, and damaged. To this day, my wife continues to suffer from severe rashes, swelling, and pain, compounding the anxiety and stress that originally brought her into the ER.
For a hospital of Good Samaritanâs stature, this represents an alarming failure in patient safety, nursing competency, and basic care standards. No ER patientâleast of all someone admitted with chest painâshould ever be subjected to such negligent handling.
We demand that:
This incident be investigated thoroughly, including reviewing staff training and competency of the nurses involved.
The hospital provide a formal apology and a clear explanation of corrective measures being taken. The Patient be provided with medical remedy and compensation for the injuries, suffering, and emotional trauma caused.
This experience was not only unacceptable but deeply damaging to our trust in your institution. I am prepared to escalate this matter further, including filing formal complaints with regulatory and accreditation bodies, if decisive action is not taken.
Update* 08/20/2025 I tried calling the number and left a message. Just letting you know that my wife got blood test today from Quest Diagnostics, Santa Clara, CA and not even a prick of the needle. The Nurse specialist and doctor over Quest was shocked, strattled , taken a back with the condition of her hands which was bruised, damaged , inflicted pain by your ER Room Nurses. This cannot be taken lightly and we won't take it lightly either. you guys have caused more panic attacks to existing anxiety symptoms.
Update** 08/25/2025 The hospital ER and leadership are yet to reach back to us. They haven't done anything to rectify the situation. Meanwhile, My wife hands has swelled further, pain increased, her redness has expanded. The hospital ER Nurses had caused her significant damage which need to be answered. This cannot be...
Read moreExtremely Terrible Experience at Good Samaritan ER!
I was initially the one who told all my friends and family members to go to the Good Samaritan ER as they provide very good services and they care! However at this point, I want to confess that I made a huge mistake! The ER there is nothing than a chaos! Though they do not get that busy usually like other emergency rooms, they provide the least acceptable health cares to their patients! This Saturday, 05/21/22, I had a high fever and a very bad sore throat, so I decided to make a huge mistake and go to the Good Samaritan Hospital. The physician there, Gupta,Shilpa DO, came to the hallway and stood 5 ft away from me and asked why I came to the ER. She suspected it was COVID-19, and she was so scared that even though she wouldnât hear me because of my sick voice, she wouldnât want to come a little bit close so she could hear me better! SHE DID NOT EXAMIN ME AT ALL!!!!! She didnât look at my throat nor my ears nor listened to my heart, nothing!! I later was given an IV. For my very bad body aches, she was going to give me pain killer which took an hour when my IV was finished! After an hour of severe pain, the nurse came back and gave me a dose of pain killer. I was tested for both COVID and Streptococcus there. At the end, the doctor got back to me with the results of my x-ray and blood tests. I was told by her that everything was normal and the Covid test result may take some time to come back, and I was discharged. I told her I still have pain and she said â LIKE YOU HAVE COVID, RIGHT?â and said she canât give me anything else. Since Saturday I have been having a very bad sore throat, and today, Tuesday, I was called around 7 AM that my Strep Test came positive and I need to be start ANTIBIOTIC IMMEDIATELY!!! I have worked at clinics before and strep tests do take maximum 5 minutes for the result to come back! For Godâs sake there is called and Emergency Room! But in reality nothing looks like an Emergency Room there! I still have not received my covid test result after more than 72 hrs, and just called and a lady at the ER, yelled at me very disrespectfully even though I was asking very nicely. She was like 1000 of people are getting tested for covid! It takes 4-5 days! Emergency means Cardiac issues!
Another horrible story of mine at The Good Samaritan ER to share is when I had a visit there for a lesion in my mouth! After waiting for hours, a sample was taken from the lesion and I was sent home. I was told I would receive the result in 2-3 days. After 3 days, I called the ER to follow up on the test result, and I WAS TOLD THE SAMPLE HAS BEEN LOST, sorry!!! I talked to my Family physician and she said it is too late to get retested as the lesion is gone, so I never knew what had happened that easily because of their carelessness! All in all, MALPRACTICES and CARELESSNESS is what you find at the GOOD SAMARITAN HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM!!!
Save yourselves time and reconsider...
