There are many parts to my review that explain the rating I gave them. I came in looking to switch out my has cooktop with an induction one.
Knowledge 5/5 - This is not your typical appliance store. You won't find your teens like you would at Best Buy. You find people who have worked here for a while and have an extensive knowledge of the appliances and brands that are being sold. The salesperson I worked with gave me so much info about picking out the best induction cooktop and what I needed for my home. Very patient and tried to make sure I knew what the differences between the brands were. When we were all done, I had to wait a month for it to come and installation. I was fine with the wait. Everything up to this point was great.
Installation 3/5 - so I paid for the installation to be done by them. It was going to cost me 400 dollars, but I didn't mind because I wanted to make sure it was working properly. The day comes and the installers tell me that they are unable to do it. They told me it was because the hold in my existing quartz was 1/4 inch too small. I was so disappointed, but I understood. They told me that my salesperson will contact me me with the info to a third party vendor who could do it. The main problem that I have with their installers was that they were not completely open with me about what needed to be done. Sure the hole was too small, but I found out later that electrical work needed to be done and the gas had to be capped before it could be installed. I didn't realize how much more work was necessary for it to be used. I didn't find out until I talked to the third party vendor (more on him later) and my salesperson about it.
Their recommended third party installer 0/5 - (Proappliance) he was referred to me because he used to be their in-house installer. I had texted back and forth with my salesperson and talked to the proappliance guy twice on the phone. I thought we were on the same page of what needed to be done, extra electrical work and cutting the slab. I was told that proappliance did everything because they were a general contractor. Installation day comes and his guys say they can't do it. They said that I had to get electrical work done by another person first and then proceeded to charge me a $75 on site assessment fee. I was so annoyed. I thought we were all on the same page. The boss guy then tells my husband that it was my fault for the mistake and that he had previously told me about getting that done before they came.
Overall this was a miserable experience. My cooktop is finally installed properly and I would go back here to buy my more appliances, but I would skip their installers...
Read moreBUYERS BEWARE: My sister is disabled, to where she has a very difficult time even getting up to try to walk even a short distance, amongst other issues. I visited the Airport Appliance in San Jose (Sept 2022) to surprise her and her husband with a new washer and dryer, because they did not have one. Explained the situation to the salesman. I purchased, what I was led to believe, was a great set. Paid over $2000 for the set. They gave my sister the run around when they were supposed to deliver and install the appliances. We were offered an extended warranty at no charge for one of the units being damaged during delivery. Then the dryer was taking quite along time to dry. When she called to get their help with the issue, she was told they could not help and that she would have to call LG. LG said it would start at $300 for the repair. This is very concerning because that was one of my questions when I was purchasing the units. Our experience thus far is not very good. Also, the tech that LG had assigned to us kept saying that he was LG and he would have to charge $300 regardless of the warranty if he has to work on these because he would have to unstack the units that we purchased as a STACKABLE system. We have also since learned, from someone we asked to assist us in this situation, that the installers may have pushed the units too far back and the units were rubbing on the electrical that caused one of the power supply to not function correctly. Update: The dryer is not working again and after I was informed that there is a 3 year extended warranty the last time, they now do not know anything about it. If I was you, I would definitely stay away from this place. One of the gals said they remembered it and was sorry we were having to go thru this. Another update: The manager was rude and did not help us in any way. We have since been able to share our experience with quite a few other people who were going to shop at Airport Appliance, but after sharing our experience they have gone elsewhere. We have since bought more appliances and have also not shopped at Airport Appliance. We estimate that it has now cost them well over $10,000.00 for there poor response to...
Read moreAvoid, avoid….Worst place to buy appliances. Worst in accountability or service. They just take orders and don’t follow on the quality of deliveries or products. We bought a full set of GE Monogram kitchen appliances from the Airport appliance on 5/1/2021 based on theirs sales guy's suggestion so that they can FIT into the existing openings. Also said, it will take 4-6 weeks. We paid $23K and expected to come in the worst case in 6 weeks. They started delivering 1 piece at a time unit end of August (that's 16 weeks). Multiple times gave time windows to deliver and missed them wasting my time to wait for hours. We lined up installers to install and as they cannot wait each guy started charging us more than one bundle. Second, each item needed massive changes to cabinets and they are not a simple direct fit to old openings which was the reason we bought (mislead). So far we paid $2800 worth of installation charges and making cabinets looks ugly with cramped up new appliances. We have eaten outside for 10 weeks and stress on us. Their sales guy or manager has no emphathy towards this ordeal. They blame on factory but never tries address the issue. They continue to give wrong expectations as we don’t cancel the order. We went to the store multiple times to find out the status of the order, no one cares or even spends two min once you say you already placed order. Call your sales guy us the answer. Sales don’t want get call or text while he is out. As a customer after paying this much you need to be aware of their schedule, go figure! As they only care you making pay, afterwards they feel like you are sucker. There is no integrity, accountability for these guys other than washing off their hands. One should be accountable for misleading, wasting time for hours of the customers. These guys should be penalized. No manager is even saying sorry vs they don’t want me to text them at odd hours for the info. But they are very comfortable calling us and texting about odd hours and give delivery windows and not show up. Brand new ones has issues, service doesn’t show up for generation. Looking to find where to complain so that...
