SEPHORA — Local services in San Jose

This place sucks they have all the time to be offended by things but no time to actually do their job. Ok so i walked in a hr and 15 minutes left until closing there was plenty of staff but immediately i was told no one could do my make up because it was close to closing because it would take 45 mins yet there was more than 45 mins to do the job or at least do what they could.. He called someone and said theyed be with me in 15 mins yet another 15 minutes passed until someone came... So a young lady starts cleaning her brushes for 6 to 8 minutes..she literally cleaned her brushes for 6 to 8 minutes and i started small talk with her at some point i said she reminded me of a good friend of mine that the kids use to call her tucan sam because of her nose but shes a pretty girl and i simply said she kind of reminded me of her she left and went in the back and started crying.... Smh it was just a horrible experience i never ended up getting my face properly done. The service was horrible and the employees unstable.. They have horrible customer service and seem to take things way too personal.. It seems like they just come to work to hang vs actually work ive never been to a sephora location such as this that was so unprepared and unwilling to help. The floor make up employees just want their check at the end of the week..who ever owns this store needs to come in as a mystery shopper or something because these people are untrained and give sephora a bad rep.. the absolute worst sephora ive been to in the country....

Today I came into Sephora with my sister looking for a birthday gift. I was looking at the YSL makeup while my sister was looking around for her own makeup. She was approached back to back if she needed help then right after they would radio something to their earpiece making her feel uncomfortable, now knowing one of them was the manager. We did select some makeup items and wanted to get a perfume for the birthday gift. We asked this employee Daisy to see what size perfumes they had for the ones we were looking for and looked bothered to check and wasn’t happy to assist us. Probably because of all the radio messages she’s been hearing to keep an eye out. After my sister and I found the ones we were looking for Daisy made us pay everything right in front of her didn’t want us to leave. I asked if this was a new policy because I shop there all the time and stated it was because there’s a long line. My sister and I looked over to checked and only one person was standing at the checkout. I told her I rather pay over at the register while I can still look while waiting but kept us there. Daisy was not happy at all and didn’t want to help us, all she wanted was her commission and I do know she thought we were going to steel this whole entire encounter with her. I did talk to the manager right after, it sounded like she was defending her saying she’s new at Sephora but heard me out and was going to talk to her. It was a horrible experience haven’t had this happen...

I scheduled a makeup trial as I was getting married soon. The girl who did my makeup, Loren, was very unprofessional and to be transparent, rude. When I sat down she started telling me about how she was supposed to have a break but then I showed up, which was “disappointing, but ok”. As she begins doing my makeup I explained that I was getting married soon and wanted to see what looked good on me. I am young, so in response to me getting married she asked “what are you, Mormon or something?” I came to Sephora to feel good about my bridal makeup, not get questioned about my life decisions. Later in our session she asked me to press my lips together and I accidentally rubbed instead and she GLARED at me and gave me a dirty look. I apologized and she deeply sighed and said “I said press not rub” and continued giving me a dirty look. I had brought a friend with me and after the session was over she brought up that the way she glared at me was insane. She did my makeup fine, but was so unprofessional during the experience that what was supposed to be a fun bridal trial for me, turned into an unwelcoming situation where I felt judged for getting married and even being there. The only good thing that came out of my experience was the manager was very nice and helped me find a lip...
