I have lived on the west edge of Willow Glen for 32 years, and just found out that the Willow Glen Community Center even exists! I do not go on the computer much, but I have overnite guests to entertain this weekend. Google popped up its name and Farmers Market for 'Nearby Events Today'.
The link to the city's website on the event gave only 'San Jose 95113' as a street address (apparently they don't know the actual street address either!), so I had to Google that too. The Farmer's Market ends in 10 minutes at 1pm. Darn.
Driving down Lincoln Ave over the years, I always just thought it was some local WG community church, not a public government building. Being retired, it is nice to know there is things going on nearby, where I do not need to contend with Traffic.
So it gets three stars for simply existing, but minus 2 for very poor...
Read moreFamily members attend this community center for a senior lunch program pretty often. They have recently been disappointed with service from City Staff. These young kids get paid to sit on their phones most of the day. They pay very little attention to the seniors.
There are two kitchen staff members who prepare the food in a timely fashion. I am constantly not seeing any sense of urgency from any of the City staff at this location. We have visited a number of other community centers where the staff always lend a helping hand.
Seems like young kids run this place & are very careless & unaware of anything but their phones. City of San Jose retrain your staff to do better.
