Farm School OC — Local services in San Juan Capistrano

Ugh, I almost don't want to review Farm School because I feel like it is a hidden gem and I don't want the secret to get out! My son and I do the Caregiving and Me classes. The classes are held at Tanaka Farms. Each class starts with a welcome song, then they move into the "lesson." Each week they learn about something related to the farm (zucchini, bees, cows, etc) you learn some quick facts about this week's topic, then a song about the topic and maybe even a quick story/book. Then we usually visit some animals on the farm before moving into the "classroom." The classroom is an outdoor area with a bunch of tables that have been set up with activities. There are usually 3/4 tables that relate to the weeks lesson (maybe like an art project, planting station or coloring pages) a snack table that relates to the lesson (so for example on zucchini week, the kids try zucchini bread) then some remaining tables full of other activities like puzzles, toys or my son's favorite the pile of dirt with toy tractors! Then the kids usually move to either visiting animals or the polin garden before we end class with a goodbye song. I think the classes are a lot of fun, they are very relaxed and allow the kids to do as much or little as they want that day. Kids classes can be expensive, but I feel like this one is a really good value for the price you are paying. We have been really happy with our Farm School OC...

Farm School OC is the best program I have been able to do with my 2.5 year old! He talks/asks about it most days. So happy I heard about Farm School OC! The caregiver and me class was so much fun for both me and my daughter. We have been trying a lot of classes lately and we love Farm School the most!
