I WOULD ADVISE AGAINST SELLING YOUR ITEMS HERE! I have given them not one, or two chances to leave a good impression on me...BUT 3! First of all, the staff present on all 3 of my trips there were RUDE (no greeting when I arrived, I also brought my items neatly arranged/folded in a plastic bin- yet that is NOT how they were returned to me-MY STILL TAGGED AND BARELY WORN ITEMS WERE REJECTED AND JUST THROWN INTO THE BIN AFTER. Upon my questioning what their reasons were for rejecting what I had brought in, I was met with almost irritation for my asking and simply told "we don't buy stuff that doesn't sell well"
YET ON THAT OCCASION I HAD BROUGHT NIKE WORKOUT CLOTHES (NEW) A BRAND NEW WITH TAGS COACH MINI PURSE, AMONG OTHER STYLES OF CLOTHING THAT I ACTUALLY SAW SIMILAR STUFF ON THEIR RACKS YET THEY REJECTED Mine...The very small number of items they have purchased from me in the 3 trips I've made to sell there have been inconsistent with their websites description of what they "will always buy" PLUS I DEFINITELY DID NOT GET A PAYOUT THAT WAS FAIR OR DECENT.
THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WHEN THEY DO BUY ITEMS, REJECTING THE MAJORITY OF STUFF THAT WE BRING IN(WHICH ONLY RESULTS IN WASTED TIME AND THE HIGH LIKELY HOOD FOR SOMEONE TO JUST ACCEPT THEIR LOW-BALL OFFER JUST SO AS TO NOT HAVE TO BRING IT ANYWHERE ELSE AND OVERALL ITS A VERY SHADY AND DISPICABLE WAY FOR THEM TO CONDUCT BUSINES. GETTING OVER ON PEOPLE WHO IN FACT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FACT THEYRE STILL IN BUSINESZ...

If you have a plain shirt, but there's something slightly different about it, like the type of buttons or a pocket or an interesting back or print, they'll take it. Anything considered a utility purchase, like a cardigan, forget about it. Even if it's a current style.
It was hard to see shirts I'd purchased for $40 or $50 reduced to $5 (and you only get 1/3 of that in cash), but better that than donating it. Wonder how I would have fared at Crossroads, but at least they were nicer and explained why they didn't take certain things without insulting my taste. (Whenever I walk out of crossroads, my self esteem drops a few hundred points.)
In general, though, they priced the clothes 30% cheaper than I thought they could've sold them for (barely worn lululemon pants for $16 could easily go for $24) and I can't shake this feeling that they're going to def sell some of these items for more than they priced them for initially. I get it, it's a business. But it's also hard not to feel a little ripped off when walking out. At crossroads, they literally tag the item right in front of you, so you know that's likely what it's actually going for. At Plato's there's a review process before it hits the floor. They reassured me that if anything was priced incorrectly, by a notable amount, they'd send me a check. Not banking on anything, but that was nice of them to...
Β Β Β Read moreI generally enjoy shopping here and have had good experiences as a buyer. The associates are usually friendly and helpful and the clothing selection is decent.
As a seller, however.. The first time went great. Today was my second time selling, and I while I was waiting I decided to pick out a few items to buy to use up some store credit. Unfortunately, as I was checking out, I was not told a total for the items I was buying, and they were not clear that they would be deducting the buying total from the selling total. The associate (young woman with long blonde hair and an attitude) not only refused to undo the transaction, but didn't seem apologetic or sympathetic at all and acted like I should have known how it worked.
I never would have expected to have this kind of problem here, but now I'm left with a bunch of unused store credit, less cash than I expected, and a sour experience. I should have read more reviews before selling here, because I would rather donate my clothes than deal with someone...
