This is for the delicatessen part of Scotty's. Came here a couple of times and ordered the Santa Fe sandwich. Both times it cost $9 plus some change all together.
Had this sandwich a few times from Scotty’s and boy did it leave an impression on me. Here is Scotty’s a small local grocery store with an equally small delicatessen. What can come out?
Well this sandwich closed my pie hole real fast. This sandwich consist of chicken breast, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayo, and a green chile on sourdough bread; all for $9. $9 can buy me a meal from other sandwich places but Scotty’s also put my money where my mouth is as well because this sandwich was crazy good. CRAZZZZY GOOOD!!
They piled on this chicken breast like they knew I was broke after buying this sandwich. Yes, $9 isn’t much but since I meal budget, plan, and prep these thoughts come to me frequently. It comes piled on a average size slice of sourdough bread. It may look small, yet it does pack a punch of flavor. When you have the sandwich right away the sourdough is toasted with the mayo slathered on and the cheese slightly melted. Then the green chili adds a nice zest and texture to the sandwich. The quality of ingredients is pretty superb, something I shouldn’t expect less from a deli but being around San Rafael quality of meals are questionable at times.
This sandwich makes me come back for more and I want more, I NEED more! If only my bank account can get it together. This is definitely worth a sandwich worth trying in San Rafael. Good...
Read moreOne day I decided to leave the store and come back to get my meal later. I almost always got the same thing every time I went (a sandwich and drink). I guess because I was cold and wore more layers plus my hoodie, the clerk didn't recognize me.
I had been shopping there for over a year and even though I'm poor I always paid for everything I got (despite how overpriced the sandwiches are, for their recently lacking quality). You can imagine my offense when she saw me not buy anything and proceeds to actually FOLLOW me out of the store and ask me if I paid for everything I was supposed to.
I consider it exceedingly inappropriate to falsely accuse people of thievery. I do also think I was (falsely) profiled as homeless?
I believe it morally disgusting to treat someone that way even if they were indeed unhoused. I actually once asked about a position there and was spoken to a little rudely by a manager.
I also have come to know that the brown haired lady who profiled me (my race may also have factored?) is a manger herself, her name is Denise. Don't shop here until there is some training/staff change. There is little recourse for giving feedback...
Read moreI live on the east coast, close to cape cod and visited my sister in San Rafael finally after many years.. we stumbled on their homemade cream of mushroom soup and it simply became a great memory having this great soup while picking movies to watch…. I called them this week to ask if they would call me (east coast remind you) , let alone the customer service of this market to let me know the next time they made this soup..well let me just say I received a call yesterday they made some and my sister immediately went down and purchased two large containers. Love this place, I run a customer service department and rarely give reviews , sometimes you find employees who really like working for their company...
