Target — Local services in San Rafael

Target, has changed and not in a positive way. I was a faithful and dedicated shopper. However, they're way over priced at a time when it matters. I would never buy personal or home items from the grocery store. I would always leave those items for a Target run. But, now in 2024, you're not getting the same Target pre/post pandemic. The level of employees don't care about your needs. If you try and ask an employee a question they all say the same thing "I'm sorry, me no speak a English." It's exhausting. I'm there trying to shop, it's almost noon and you can't even get down the isles. The employees are on almost every isle with their carts which takes up almost the whole isle. You can't see anything. You can't reach anything. You can't even see the prices. No one can answer any questions so I just left and I went to Safeway. Their prices were cheaper. I purchased 8 items at Target today. Four of them had sale tags in front of them on the shelf. When I got home and studied my receipt, I realized I’d been charged full price for 3 of those 4 “sale” items. This is not the first, or even the third or fourth time this has happened. However, I usually look at my receipt before I leave, and I mistakenly failed to do so today. Having worked in the retail industry for almost 30 years, I realize that there are large penalties assessed by the state of California for incorrect scan data occurring at the cash register, especially when it is a regular occurrence. The San Rafael Target store must have one of the best locations of any Target in the country. It's right by San Francisco Bay, with fantastic views from the Starbucks inside, and a big parking lot filled at times with very attractive and unusual-sounding birds. It has a good number of EV chargers. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the store is well stocked, not least with an excellent range of TVs and electronics. The CVS pharmacy staff inside are excellent, too. I recently brought a return to the Target customer service desk and also had some items my wife had bought the day before but had left in a bag at the store. They couldn't find the bag, but when I said I was feeling unwell with my heart, a Target associate went around the store and selected all the items again for me, no charge....
