I got a super carne asada and a baby burrito with carnitas. Extremely salty and oily. Ate the carne asada burrito last night and am still dealing with an upset stomach. The total cost for a super burrito and baby burrito was $27! The super burrito was $14.25 and the baby burrito was $7. I was wondering why it totaled $27. She said well $14.25 for the super burrito and $7 for the baby burrito.. and tax. It’s expensive these days. When I got the receipt I saw an added $3.50 for meat for the baby burrito. No where on the menu does it say the baby burrito is beans and cheese only and that’s what they told me when I showed them the receipt. She also didn’t mention it when I originally asked why it was $27. It’s fine, I’m just never going back, but didn’t like that I felt like they were trying to be sneaky.. and they weren’t friendly at all. Read moreMarin has the worst Taquerias in the Bay Area and Picante is pretty much the best taqueria in Marin.
left 3 stars with the easy potential for 5
It’s clean, has beautiful murals, and the team is noticeably solid.
Why did I leave 3 stars? They don’t do Tijuana style al pastor. Asked them politely to change their business model. Told them I’d bring them 100000000s of customers if they did the first TJ Al Pastor in Marin. Even if they just did it once a week at first, it would become so popular. That stuff is CRACK!
Also they have a clunky payment system. Should have invested in Square Pay.
Fixing these two things would bring them well above 5 stars.
Also I saw a 3 star review about racism. If you’re white and speak Spanish, order in Spanish. If you’re white and don’t speak Spanish, learn.
Regardless, Picante is not racist towards white people 🙄 Keep bringing...
Read moreThe parking lot is always full here for good reason. It’s a well know and much loved spot for high quality Mexican food. Picante turns out excellent burritos, tacos and fajitas using the freshest ingredients, and they make delicious fresh salsas (medium and hot) to augment the tasty flavors in every dish. The restaurant is spacious with tables and booth seating and the TVs are usually turned to a soccer match. Picante does a healthy take out business too and provides the home made salsas in a refrigerator for take out customers to bring home in small containers. Service is very quick and they will call your number at the counter to pick up and take to your own table. No waitstaff and there is a designated area to deposit your dirty dishes after you dine. Very efficient and excellent operation at Picante! Try...
