Talk about great Hometown atmosphere in a grocery store. Thriftway is always been a chain that has that kind of atmosphere but this one up on Mount Hood by Rhododendron is absolutely perfect even had a first time register operator who fully admitted it was her first day and I was more than happy to be patient with her because she admitted it. Nowadays people seem to think they have to fake it when in reality you may be dealing with somebody that actually owns the company or has worked for the company before and you just make yourself look like a fool this woman was an exemplary employee on her first day and I challenge any other new employees that aren't sure about how they should act to follow her around. I don't know her name I know she was absolutely precious and had nothing but good kind things to say her instructors were very patient with her and helped her both times I went through her aisle with little things that she wasn't sure about but it really does my heart good to see someone that admits they don't know everything I'm so over that when it comes to Industries where you're serving other people if you don't know just admit it that's more respected than acting like you do and then failing miserably because then it makes it look like you don't know anything at all. Like everywhere else the rates of the prices in here are high so you have to be choosy with if you really need the products or not but that's part for the course in an area like this where you're not really in a major town and have much variety so they've got the market cornered but there's also some cute little shops around Thriftway that I definitely suggest trying to...
Read moreGreat products and selections for a small town grocery store. I was impressed by their offerings of St. Helens Beef. We made a Costco trip on our way here for a week long vacation and came to Thriftway for a few items we forgot. I feel like if you need something they probably have it there. We forgot coffee creamer and we're pleasantly surprised by their large selection of coffee creamers. We also noticed the vast selection of local brews on tap at the growler fill station at the front of the store with a very vivid electronic menu. Lots of offerings here. We...
Read moreThis store is like an oasis in a desert. We always stop here on our way to Mt Hood.
It is not the cheapest store we go to, but location is everything and they carry almost everything you will need or want.
The best part is using the bathroom. Once again it's not the most glamorous of bathrooms, but it is still a welcome site after setting in the car for two hours.
It is also the last stop for gas befor hitting Madras. Aswell as a rental shop that has everything you need for hiking or...
