If I could give this place -5 stars I would. I just had a horrible experience. I am 26 years old and on my way up to Mt Hood for the day, in an excellent mood. Stopped by here to pick up snacks and decided to grab a beer. The RUDE old lady with brown hair, did not allow me to buy the beer because “I looked too young.” Regardless of the fact I have a VALID OREGON DRIVERS LICENSE STATING I AM 26 years old and born in 1993. My boyfriend was also denied and he is 27 also with VALID OREGON DRIVERS LICENSE. This is completely discriminatory. I am mexican and it is normal for us to look younger than we are. I went next door to the liquor store right afterward and was given no issue when buying bottle of tequila. FIRE this woman, or train her on how to properly check ID and make her aware that some races look younger...
Read moreThis store is always surprising. This is the store we use when we spend a week at the cabin. It had alot of foods that are compliant with lifestyle diets. We are on gaps so i wasnt sure we would be able to find quailty honey in the dead of winter in such a small rural town. But not only did we find one, we had options! They also had grass fed butter which was winderful. The only reason why im not giving 5 stars, is because the pricing is steep and the options for 1st aid is small. On a mountain in a rural comnunity i would expect more options for home remedy and medical supplies. However, they could have been out. It was dead of winter when we were there. I was forced to buy Neosporin bandaids, instead of a quailty anti bacterial topical. Overall, its...
Read moreWith all the mixed reviews, I had to check it out myself. This place is expensive!!! About $1-3 per item more than Whole Foods, which I shop often and all over US. Even comparing to remote ski resort markets like in Aspen, this place is more expensive. Selection is limited on healthy and organic choices. When it’s there, you’ll find $8 oat milk. Ya, the price is ridiculous! So I drove 20 min to Sandy’s Safeway instead. The money you save for a week of grocery shopping will be a tank of gas plus more, accounting the gas to Sandy. If you want only a handful of items and are short on time, may be it’s worth it. Also the store name Hoodland “Thriftway” is so misleading, it’s more like...
