UPDATE: Once my order was placed the delivery personnel as well as Jeremy went M.I.A. Neither of them returned my messages about when I could expect delivery, which freaked me out considering the whole reason I decided to go with Ornate was because they promised to deliver it within 2 weeks time. After a week of not hearing from anyone, I finally got a text message in the evening informing me they would deliver tomorrow afternoon. What really?! I had to call my employer to let them know I couldn’t come in because there was no way I was going to miss the delivery.
There were no instructions on how to assemble the couch and I didn’t realize there were packaged legs hidden underneath the cushions that needed to manually be attached until after I had assembled everything.
Jeremy also offered a free gift to be delivered with my sofa if I left a Google 5 star review, which you can see below. I asked the delivery guy about the gift and he said he never heard of such a thing, so I contacted Jeremy and he said he would have it mailed out. I’m going on week 4 with no item as promised and no one reaching out to see how the delivery went or if we are satisfied with the purchase.
I do regret not doing business with the original company I researched, Coleman Furniture, because they offered the same sofa with free delivery, white glove in home assembly, and a 5 year warranty, whereas you have to pay for shipping, assembly, and separate 3 year warranty with Ornate. I was just being impatient and wanted the sofa before a certain date, which I fully regret spending my time and money with this company.
The hassle it was to unbox each item and dispose of the large cardboard, bubble wrap, and plastic was overwhelming and couldn’t dispose of it in our regular recycling bins. Never again will I do business with Ornate Furniture. I hope this review can help save someone else a headache and time, SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE!
Jeremy was very helpful when purchasing our new sofa considering I was shopping online instead of in-store. He extends his customer service by reaching out via text and phone to answer any questions I may need. This was very helpful and reassuring since a couple of days prior to speaking with him, I had purchased the same piece at another retailer but was disappointed with the delivery timeline considering it was a month wait away andI wanted it before my event. Read moreI was in the market for two new recliners so I visited the Ashley Furniture store and found what I liked but the price was way higher than what I was willing to pay and searched the chair model number on Google and Ornate Furniture had the same exact chair that was Ashley branded from Ashley for sale for less than half of what Ashley was selling it for. And I even went to local furniture stores and showed them the price Ornate had it listed for and they couldn't and wouldn't come even slightly close to matching Ornates low price on furniture and so I gave up on trying to buy them local. And I've never bought furniture online before so I contacted customer service since they were in California but they ship all over the United States and i'm in North Carolina. So I called customer service and Bob was very nice and explained the process very thoroughly and said if anything arrived damaged I had 24-48 hours to report it and it would be made right with a person coming out to the house so I placed the order via online and only 99 dollars to ship and deliver 2 chairs curbside delivery is an amazing deal because the local furniture stores wanted $150 to deliver them. So after 13 days to the date of placing the order on the two recliners a guy named Kevin called from a store nearby and said the chairs would be delivered the next day and gave me a four hour time frame for the delivery and the date of delivery was exactly 2 weeks to the day from which I placed my order on the recliners. When the delivery guys arrived with the Penske truck they were here just after the first hour of the time frame so they were very much on time and they were even nice enough to bring them up my steep driveway and up the ramp and dropped them just into my backdoor for me which was so nice because I didn't have a hand truck. I unboxed both chairs and assembled them which was easy and neither one was damaged and look beautiful in my living room and now I own two beautiful recliners for less than what Ashley home store wanted to charge for one delivered. Will recommend Ornate to everyone I know for furniture from now on due to the money you can save with them and how painless they made the process for me. Read moreI ordered a couch from Ornate Furniture in December, everything went very well at the beginning within a week I had received the couch. Once we unpackaged the couch and put it together, we noticed the arm rest was broken. Annoyed, but understanding I have them a call and they said to email them pictures, short description etc. they mentioned I only had 48 hours to do this from the time the couch was delivered so I did it right away. He also mentioned don’t use the couch until they figure it out, which is annoying when you just bought a new couch and can’t sit on it for a month. A week goes by after the email, no response no call, nothing. I called them and they say they never received an email, upset I tell them to check again and forward the email with the date it was initially sent for proof. Eventually, he says he will submit the claim and get back to me. 2 weeks later they schedule a repair tech, repair tech looks at my couch from a far and walks out and says it not repairable and leaves. Called Ornate again, demanding a replacement and finally got one a few days after that, on that day I wasn’t home to check everything looked good but when I did the couch was installed wrong by the delivery team. Overall, i wouldn’t order from them again, every phone interaction with them involved attitude from the “customer service dept” There’s lack of communication, inconsistent customer service, and no sense of urgency for these types of situations.
