I have been a customer at this store for several years. I became a consistent customer due to the magnificent service Joe gave me several years back when it came to purchasing something from his store. He isn't the only magnificent person at that store that provides great service.

All of the staff that have helped me out in general have been friendly and efficient. I think I had made a mistake myself in a subscription I might have not made, I am not entirely sure, but they fixed that issue and created one, a subscription, while getting me the comic on time. They were supposed to be sold out of that issue at the time or they were nearly out of stock and found a copy either way it was great. They make sure to keep me up to date on series I may be interested in getting a subscription to, and call me up when I have subscriptions waiting. They also actually remember who I am, which I greatly appreciate. It keeps me from having to ask them every time for my subscription. They will have my subscription ready and waiting by the time I am done browsing their store, if I have one, or get it ready for me ASAP if that is all I am here for. Even when they are busy they acknowledge me and let me know I have a subscription in, if I have one.

They have an interesting collection of comics and various other things in general, and will order stuff for you if they're able. I am not much of a figure person anymore, but they have some interesting ones in their second room. They tried to sell manga for a while, but they stopped for the most part likely due to a lack of buyers. They are also willing to make some recommendations for you if they know your tastes or just blanket what they are into at the time if that is what you prefer, although of course you have to ask for that. While I do admit that last part isn't a big deal it does allow some variation in tastes whether it ends up being something you enjoy or not. It also shows they're not just there as someone to check you out, but will engage with you as a person and give proper customer service/interaction.

They also price things fairly and don't try to mark up prices, at least from what I have noticed. I understand this shouldn't be something that needs to be noted, but I have had experiences with other comic shops that did take advantage of people in this particular manner.

I can't think of a single time I have had a bad experience in this comic shop. I have been coming here steadily for at least 4 years minimum in my adult life and I was an infrequent customer for them back in the 90s, so never having a bad experience with them in that amount of time is noteworthy from my perspective.

The customer service and friendly atmosphere of Atlantis Fantasyworld in general is why I rate this store so highly. I noted just a few of the most highlight worthy experiences I...

If you're a fan of comic books, then you absolutely have to check out this amazing little store. Despite its small size, it's packed to the brim with all sorts of comics, from old classics to new releases. But what really sets this store apart from the rest is the fantastic staff.

From the moment you walk in the door, you're greeted with a warm smile and a friendly hello. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable about all things comics, and they're always happy to help you find what you're looking for. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a first-time reader, they'll take the time to chat with you and offer their expert recommendations.

And even if you're not looking to buy anything, it's worth stopping by just to soak up the atmosphere. The store is decorated with all sorts of cool comic book memorabilia, from vintage posters to action figures, but it's not overwhelming. It's clear that the owners and staff are true fans, and care about what they are doing.

Overall, I can't recommend Atlantis Fantasyworld enough. It's a true gem in the world of comics, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff only make it that much better. So if you're in the area, be sure to swing by and check it out.

Of course, don't forget to pick up a copy of 'Vampires Everywhere!'.....it could...

I would recommend getting the circumstances of an evaluation in writing.

I dropped my comics off for an evaluation. 6 weeks later, I received an offer that was approximately 5% of a generous retail valuation. I understand that they would not be able to buy my collection at full retail, but 5% seemed way too low.

Furthermore, I was told after the fact that most of my comics, which were all stored in some sort of protective plastic, had been removed in order to be evaluated. Instead of being returned to plastic, they were put without any plastic covering or support. Between this loose storage and boxes and the return trip home, they certainly lost value. Most were in mint or near mint condition previously (see photo for an example of spine damage).

I am now going to send them to a consigner and will not be taking the time to repackage each comic book, so they will likely lose even further value in shipping. If I had just sent them to a consigner in the first place when they were properly packaged, it would have made a...

Today we found the comic shop from the film The Lost Boys (not in the same location though) and met the owner who actually appeared in the film as an extra. He was a really interesting guy and told us lots of stories. And then he showed us the original comic book from the film and we bought a replica with photos of the film shoot and other bits of information about the filming. Also lots of other interesting information. But we found out for definite that the bridge in the town is not "the" bridge, as we'd suspected.
